I've sent all relevant evidences, still not sure what went wrong that my case wasn't touched.. If I dont get USCIS case number, how can I call them?

I'm stressed checking my account every second, called bank so many times to make sure ther isn't any check pending.. Dont knw whats going on. :(

Try calling and giving your A number to the USCIS officer, it's not a guarantee but it might help.  I filed with Texas at the Fedex location myself so it's not the PO Box.

Did you have tracking on your package or submit a G-1145?

Just remember to relax, this is a new process for them too and they're more than likely adjusting themselves and getting used to the changes.  If you did have tracking on your package, keep that as evidence that you submitted your application on time.

Hey everyone.

Posted 21st Sep, delivered 24th Sep.

After reading through here, realized I should have sent more evidence. All I sent was our son's birth certificate and our mortgage deed. I was trying to be quick since my expiry is 28th and I panicked.

Should I send an addendum?

Those your evidence are strong... worst they could do is to call you for interview.

@Goldfish123 Hi, you are just stressing out my friend. I dont believe it has anything to do with Dallas PO or Lewisville. Your check will be cashed anytime now. Dont stress out and go on with your normal life.

@londongal As we have seen before, checks cashed should mean, you have a case number like SRC.., WAC,.. and they accepted your money and will process the paper NOA then Biometrics in the following weeks. This does not mea your case is approved (LOL).

Cases sometimes are not accepted when the form is not properly filled or signed, greencard photocopy is missing, check is incorrect, filed at an incorrect location. They return the whole package to you, after 4-5 weeks I think

I dont think you have to worry about your less evidence for this case, for that RFE s are there and they will take a year to process the case with all the evidences or ask for more

Don't mean to panic you but because of the new changes, USCIS officers can openly reject applications without issuing an RFE to the applicant if there is evidence missing from the packet.

Every application should be front loaded to avoid any potential issue down the line.  Innocent mistakes happen which is why USCIS gives a 3 month window prior to the expiration of the conditional green card so applicants can begin prepping their applications early.

With the new changes, it's the officer's discretion whether or not they send you an RFE or they deny the application outright.

In the end it'll be based on the weight of your application and all previous representations.  You may get lucky and a birth certificate and mortgage is enough in your case.

I would wait to see if they issue you a USCIS number.  When they do, call the main USCIS number and ask where you can send the additional evidence.  Typically they'll tell you to wait until an RFE is issued but sometimes you can get a tier two officer whose helpful.  It's luck of the draw though.  Wishing you both luck and I'll have my fingers crossed for you!

They don't just reject applications mate. If you did not provide sufficient evidence, you might be called for interview and you would bring those information.

USCIS has a new policy--they don't have to issue RFE's anymore:

USCIS is trying to avoid situations where people put in applications with little to no evidence and then the applicant brings the information to the interview.

It's been in heavy discussion over the last couple of months but it's the Trump era of immigration.

Among the Texas lockbox filers, you are the first one whose check was cashed. I'm the second one.

Looks like there is a delay in I-797 delivery for this service center.

Let's wait and keep each other updated.

Yeah, I remember USCIS being very slow but I think now what's effecting the timeline comes down to the following:

1) It's a new process and USCIS is adjusting

2) Our files are first going through intake and then immediately forwarded to the USCIS office who will be handling the case and the checks are cashed there -or-

3) Our checks are cashed and assigned to a USCIS office and then they are sent to the USCIS office where that office will issue the NOA.

(Both explain a potential delay)

Either way it's the USCIS office that's assigned who issues the NOA, not the lockbox.  Or the lockbox could be issuing it but it's still snail mail.  They do say 7-10 days from the date it's assigned a USCIS number is when you should expect to receive a physical copy of the NOA.  7-10 days for me is tomorrow so we'll see what happens.
