I applied on 07/24 (sent/paid online), got update that my case was scheduled for biometrics on the 08/03 (on biometrics letter it shows 08/02). I got appointment for 08/22 but decided to give it a go and do walk in. Some offices will let you come early, some wonโ€™t. I got there early in the morning, not even an hour after they opened, everyone was nice and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Got update that my case is being actively reviewed by USCIS couple hours later and my estimate timeline dropped to less time as soon as I walked back in my car.ย

ย

I have seen a lot of Nebraska people getting approvals. I have not seen any Texas filers. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Thank u for the information..

ย

Good luck :)

N-400

Applied online: 24 JULY, 2019

NOA: 24 JULY, 2010

Biometrics:ย Appointment scheduled on 8/3/2019 for 22 AUGUST, 2019

Biometrics: successful WALK IN on 8 AUGUST, 2019 (Jacksonville, FL)ย

ย

This was her status. As far as I know you should not walk in for biometrics, because you need the form to prove that it is your appointment date (unless you already have the form, then sometime they will let you do it early).ย which they will give a stamp on it. Also, I also asked her about applying N-400, she suggested to pass the date (on the green card) then apply for it. for example, she applied after 4 days pass to her green card date which was July 20th. I hope this helped!

Thanks..!

I have a question, my green card expires in October 29 this year. My I 751 has been pending since September 2018 in Vermont. My window for applying for citizenship is open, should I apply even though on the uscis website says do not apply if you have a pending I 751?

I see a lot of you guys are applying for N400 with a pending I 751.

Thanks.

Dont you have the extension letter? I haven't come across uscis site that says you cannot apply. There is a calculator on their website that could tell you if you are qualify to apply.ย

Thanks.

I have applied for N400 while my I751 is pending. And that is what a lot of people are doing, especially from service center for which processing times are longer. I was not aware about USCIS suggesting not to apply if I751 is pending.ย

ย

On side note, the extension is usually for 18 months.ย

ย

Edit: Just read paragraph 2. That's the experience everyone has talked about that IO will not approve N400 till I751 is approved. And a lot of applicants have had dual interview and post that I751 was approved first and then their N400.

You will likely have to make an infopass appointment. If citizenship is your goal, I would go ahead and apply for citizenship. It doesnโ€™t say you canโ€™t apply. You might not get I-751 approved in time for n400. Lot of people get combo interviews or get approval for n400 and just have to wait for I-751 approval.ย
