Hi guys, I don't really know how NVC check our documents and with that I wanted to seek some advice from you guys with regards to the financial document. My husband stayed outside the US for quite a long time (to finish his study) and just got back in US recently so apparently he don't have any taxes or whatsoever for the past yrs and in addition to that he just got a job this month of Dec. What do you guys suggest for us to do? Should we get joint sponsor?

I would get a joint sponsor and if he was required to file taxes that he does so. Seek advice from a tax person. Did he maintain a home in the U.S.?

An August 2nd filer was approved at the Potomac Service Center yesterday 😍😍😍💃🏽💃🏽🎉🎉🎉🎉🤸🏽‍♀️🤸🏽‍♀️!   I’m August 3rd. I’m getting excited now.

I really wish people would update their timelines. It could be that many more have been approved in our month. There should be some type of reminder notice sent out to these people..🤨 just sayin..🤦🏼‍♀️

I'll tell him to ask for advice to clarify things up, thanks by the way. He's temporarily staying with his parents.

Check this out

If you did not file taxes: If you did not file Federal Income Tax Returns for the most recent tax year, write and sign a statement indicating why you did not file taxes.

Thank you 😊 hopefully providing the letter will settle things. But to be sure we'll try to seek for some advice.

Great idea! Have a joint sponsor on standby too.

I don’t know if someone has already asked this question. But, why does the processing time on USCIS website for I-130 for spouse at TSC have a longer wait time for a USC sponsor vs. a Perminent Resident sponsor? Shouldn’t it be the other way around? 🤔🙆🏼‍♀️ (Very confused)

I notice it as well, but perhaps its because permanent residents need to wait for their priority date (which will took them 1-2yrs of waiting before it becomes current) before their  papers begin to process. As per US citizens the priority date is always current by the moment the USCIS recieve the petition.

Ahhh, If that’s the case, that makes complete sense. Even though their petition is approved ahead of time, they still have to wait for their priority date. Thank you 🤗

Yeah, its kinda like that. Although as far as I know (I'm not certain about this) , they have to wait for the priority date before the USCIS starts to work on their petition.
