Sooooo my ex roommate just informed me that she received notice from post office and my RFE is gojng to my old address. I have confirmation from uscis of my address change being completed on 9/24/18. What number do I call to straighten this out?? Mistake after mistake...what if i didn’t receive notification from uscis about the RFE and my friend didn’t still live at my old address? They would have denied me on their error. I can’t imagine how many people this has happened to....unreal...what number do I call at uscis to straighten out this address thing?

Call ‭(800) 375-5283‬. In case you’ve never called them before and talked to a person, follow the prompts, press 3 right after they start reading your current online status. From there you might have to request Tier 2 assistance.

if they have messed up your address change then ask them to correct it, send new notice to correct address and possibly tell you RFE details over phone since they made an error so you can work on RFE till notice arrives.

Maybe ask your roommate to put the notice in post box for you? I know you must be anxious over what’s in it. Could be faster than when uscis sends a new notice to your new address.

Good luck and hopefully you get everything sorted out. Looking at your timeline, it only took 2 days to get your NOA1 but its taking 7months for the RFE. Is this normal?

I think my sent date for the 130 is off by like 1 week. But we did get it pretty fast and the waiting of 7.5 months is normal at this point. I got the RFE and the divorce decree I sent them for my husband and his ex is not what they want. So my husband is getting the one they want tomorrow and then will DHL To me so I can get translated and fedex to them.

Oh...you can’t even imagine the circles I went in today with uscis. First off, your phone steps worked perfectly. I got transferred to tier 2 officer he asked me for a fax number. I wasn’t at the office and I don’t know my work fax, my secretary does all that ugh! Then, he tells me to call back with fax and they will send it over. I asked him to please at least tell me what the RFE is requesting and he told me...he said they want a certified copy of the divorce decree for my husband and his ex from Argentina. They even tell you what’s it’s called in their country and where to get it and what it should have on it. The one we sent them was not like that and I had a hunch we were going to have issues. Well, hubby is getting it tomorrow and sending to me DHL. So I can have it translated and sent off. And to think, today is our 1 year anniversary...thank you amapru..you can’t begin to imagine how much help you’ve been in this group. I truly wish your day comes very soon!!!

You’re very welcome. I hope you can submit it as soon as possible and they review it. Would like for all cases to be approved without RFEs but the way things are going I guess we can take it as a positive in some ways. It tells you at least they started working on your case.

Texas have touched our case!

The status update reads:

On March 28, 2019, we mailed a request for initial evidence for your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, Receipt Number Xxxxx

Now I'll spend the next few weeks worrying about what is it that they need. Any thoughts?

I revived my notice on 3/21 and it was received in the mail yesterday so it only took a week. From what I’ve been told...when it says “initial” evidence, it’s something they need to replace a document or missing document that goes along with the or original submission of the petition. When it says “additional” evidence, it’s because they want proof of something. The one way I kept my head on during the Edit if receiving is thinking about how they didn’t send a NOID. And it said initial evidence. Coming from my experience, you will be fine and it will be something you already have or can easily obtain. Keep us updated!

Hi guys, here is the page of what was requested in the RFE. I guess they ran out of blue paper lol.9B617D6E-A199-4DB0-AD91-3AAE987A4147.thumb.jpeg.328a1e66c11142f928607102f425fa78.jpeg

Hopefully something you can obtain and send to them easily enough? Fingers crossed!
