Hi all I am happy I found others in my boat now I don’t feel like I’m the only one waiting now.

11/29/17- we got married

8/13/18- filed for i130 for both wife and stepson Laywer took care of everything

10/3/17- USCIS received forms at Texas service center.

10/10/17- $1070 deducted from my account for both i130 forms.

10/15/17- received I-797c in the mail for both my wife and stepson with a priority date of 10/3/17

unfortunatley I noticed immediately my stepsons last name was wrong 🤦‍♂️ right away my laywer sent out to correct the issue.

1/11/19- status was updated online for my stepson saying correspondence was received and is being reviewed by USCIS.

My wife’s casé status online has not changed still says form received 10/3/18.

Haven't  heard anything else yet and we are both getting quite impatient and feel like we’re losing hope 😞 we really hoped to be done with the whole process by now. But seeing that a lot others still have not received ao2 I feel a little better. We hope to god soon we will have a response 🙏🙏.

Your timeline is a bit confusing..  Is it 2018 or 2017 ?

you filed i130 in Aug and uscis received in Oct?

It's very unlikely that it took so long for them to open your package.

What exactly is the priority date on your receipt?

Cuz Texas is now processing Aug cases. If your priority date is in Aug, it will soon be your turn.

But if the date is in Oct, you still have to wait a while.

Hello everyone! There’s a TSC August 2nd approval on IR-1/CR-1 Spouse Visa Timelines. This gives us some hope, they’re moving forward even with the USCIS processing time changing. Speedy approval to all of us :)

yayyyyy they are working!!

Yes I know I don’t what happened that it took so long. The package was sent 8-13 and USCIS received it 10-3 and priority date is 10-3. I don’t know if it was a problem with the post office or why it was delayed.

Wow, that is long time from August to October. Your priority date should be August... Maybe your attorney didn’t send it off when he told you he did🤔 cuz that’s the only part this whole process is quick with, sending u noa1...then u wait for dear life🥴

Glad to have you. Can you complete a timeline because it helps others here estimate any approvals

Honestly I was thinking the same thing a few people had told me the same the noa1 usually is sent within 2 weeks. And omg yes it feels like we have been waiting a lifetime as it is already😓. On top of that since my step sons last name was wrong I assume that will also delay the process. In October when we received the noa1 the very same week my laywer sent them the notice to correct the last name and it wasn’t until january that his case was updated for the error of the name.

Just stay on top of your attorney. They drop the ball on things. Visajourney is mostly for people that are doing this process by themselves without an attorney. You will get a lot of helpful information here about everything. Just ask and someone will respond with their best knowledge. Good luck to us🙏

I was thinking the same thing. In my opinion the attorney didn’t send the package when he said he did. Noa1 is the fastest thing you receive. And when you are paying an attorney, they send it express mail which gives them a confirmation of receipt. He needs to ask the attorney for proof of delivery in Aug. noooo way it took 2 months to receive receipt. Unheard of. And what’s also off is, when you have an attorney filing these papers, since your paying them, they pay the uscis fees themselves. Very strange....

Yup. I used to work with an immigration attorney as an assistant and after seeing how unorganized he was, lying to clients about working on their case when it was still sitting piled up on his desk.  I was there for 2 days and knew nothing about completing these forms and he would have me complete I 130 for clients without even walking me thru it😳.  I felt bad for clients trusting him with this and paying $4000 just to complete forms that he only had a new assistant work on. It was too much unorganized chaos...That’s when I said, forget this, I’m doing it myself without an attorney.
