That’s pretty odd of waiting for over 3mos. For a receipt number. Did you include the e-notification form in your packet? Usually Noa1 takes only 1-2weeks. You will be getting a different kind of notifications once Lockbox receives it. It can be in the form of text message, an email and the hard copy of noa1 itself in the mail.

I guess there’s something to worry about it. Take action before it’s too late.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, But no receipt from USCIS, and they have no idea what you are talking about when you call, Are you sure it was sent? Have you personally checked the tracking number used to mail the petition, or have you personally seen the canceled check, or proof it was submitted. I am just a firm believer in the " Don't trust anyone" department. Not saying your Fiancee would lie to you, but just food for thought.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. So the check was cashed? Do you know that for certain, OP? Have you personally seen a copy of the cancelled check? I certainly wouldn’t be happy with “please wait” for 3 months if an organization was sitting on over $500 of my hard-earned money and couldn’t even give me a receipt or even a verbal confirmation of the receipt number.

I ask because this sounds familiar to a thread here about a year or so ago where the petitioner told the beneficiary that an I-129F had been submitted, check had been cashed but there was no receipt number and when he called USCIS he was apparently told to “wait” and that there wasn’t receipt number yet. This went on for months. Turned out he hadn’t filed anything at all and he was just stringing the girl along. Is it possible that he could be making this up? Maybe he is too embarrassed to admit he doesn’t have the money to pay the filing fee? Maybe he lost the necessary documents (such as his birth certificate) that he needs to send with it and is buying time with this story while he gets new ones? Maybe, like the previous case, it’s because he doesn’t want to go through with it anymore? It is a cruel trick to play if that is the case but I mention it because it has happened before, at least once.

Timeline in brief:

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

Nice to see someone else on the same page as me with my post. I'm also a firm believer that the simplest answer is usually the right one. I don't believe it was ever filed. I know after I filed my I129F that I sent a PDF scanned copy of the whole package to my fiancee because it is a good idea and recommended that she have a copy to study for the interview process down the line. I would be looking for more proof it was filed.

There's a difference between a receipt number and a case number. OP wants the receipt number.

This.  OP said “case number”.  Thus, I was under the impression that they were looking for a case number, which comes much later.  Thank you all for the oversight.

Thank you so much, everyone!

Wow!  I am utterly speechless after reading this.

I have never thought from this angle before, but good point.

Your NOA1 probably got lost in the mail. It happens. At least you have confirmation that they received it. Keep calling USCIS to speak to a tier 2 officer and ask them to confirm your address on file and request that a new copy of your NOA1 is sent to you.

I would like to point out that they do not "cash" the cheques in a traditional way. There is no image of the cheque being submitted to the bank, instead they generate ACH (Automated Clearing House) request based on the account and routing number for the cheque. In affect it kinda like what PayPal and other services do.

This is what it shows up as in my online banking:

OP is the beneficiary. If they even speak to her at USCIS, they won’t send the NOA1 to her. I’m not sure if things have changed since we were at petition stage in early 2016 but USCIS would only speak to my husband (the petitioner) and never me.

Oh sorry. Thought she was petitioner. Have petitioner call.

Dear all,

My fiance sent 129 form and documents to resister to K-1  Visa but we can't receive NOA1 from USCIS, we are waiting over 3month!!!

He called USCIS but their answer is only 'please wait'.

He tracked and confirmed that our request form arrived to USCIS safety and K-1 resister fee is already charged to USCIS.

How can I do to confirm whether our I-129F has been approved and get the NOA1 No.?

Thank you for your kindly suggestion.

We never received it (I mean the hard copy) :) It will be a year in November and we got our NOA2 in June, but still no NOA1. We don't worry about it, because it seems to be useless really.
