Where can i see updates on my status? my mother petitioned for me in 2013 and I wanna know what year is being processed at the immigration offices in kingston? is the a way for me to check this online or is there a number to call?

Adult children of a USC would be either F1 if unmarried or F3 if married.

I've checked those sites and it still cant tell me what year the visa office is currently processing. Usually they will tell you they are processing march 2012 for example and so you can know based on your date how far away they are from getting to your date. that's what I need

I believe you are referring to the Visa Bulletin...? If the PD is current already and the case is at the consulate/embassy, there is no official timeline.

What's the Priority Date on the I-130 petition?

Is this for an unmarried (F1) or married (F3) son or daughter of a USC?

It is F1 unmarried adult daughter and my priority date is july 2013

Assuming they are not under the China/India/Mexico/Philippines chargeability, F1 is current for May 8th, 2011 and sooner cases. So expect roughly 2-3 years before being able to to interview, depending on how quickly or slowly F1 advances in the future.

NVC is accepting documents for March 8th, 2012 and earlier cases for F1.

Also I know that for F1 the child of the petitioner should not be married or else it will affect the application timeline but what about children, if the unmarried son or daughter has children of their own. Does this affect the application?

Correct...marrying would turn the F1 into an F3 category, which has a considerably longer wait.

Derivatives include unmarried children under 21. If they marry, then they will no longer qualify as a derivative. Their child's children would not qualify for any derivative visas (see 9 FAM 502.2-3(C) https://fam.state.gov/fam/09FAM/09FAM050202.html)

Yes I understand this but I’m asking if I have a child will my category change the way it would if I became married? And most important will it increase my wait time?

nope, your child is your derivative, he or she will have the interview at the same time as you do, it doesn't increase the waiting time,

 

you will do everything together and have the interview together

No other then the child can petition you when they turn 21
