Ok to travel after Petition expiration?

So my fiance got his K1 Visa and it has 2 dates, the petition expiration date and the visa expiration date. Does he have to travel before the petition expires? I read some stories online from a few years ago and people were denied entry because it expired. People were saying they should of asked for a supervisor. My fiance wants to come after it expires which is the end of september, he just got it 2 weeks ago. Should he come before or will he be ok? Thank you

The K1 visa is valid for six months from the date of the medical exam.  My fiancé, now wife, came to the US 5.5 months after her medical exam and had no issues.

Oath Ceremony:  2018-06-11 - DONE!!!!!!!
