Question about gross annual income

Today I called the corporate office of the hiring agency I'm employed with (working a factory job for them). And I asked them what my gross annual income is. They said that they couldn't give me that number because I'm a "contract worker" or something like that. So I'm assuming that when they send my employment verification letter to the consulate or embassy or whoever is doing the fiance visa case, that it won't have the income number. So how do I prove how much money I would be projected to make annually? Just take the weekly gross check and multiply it by 52?

And if I do that, what if the number I figure up turns out to be different from the number in the employment letter (if they give a number in it at all)? And if they don't give a number then will the visa people believe the number I give them?

Also, what if the employment verification letter stating it's temporary work  gives a bad impression of me?

Also, our fiance visa deadline has already been extended once or maybe twice. Would they extend it again if I ask them?

You need a lot more financial information than what you are offering. At least three years of tax transcripts from the IRS or proof of income. Extending the fiance deadline? Never heard of that. What deadline? Sounds like you don't know much about the process. I suggest you either get a lawyer or start doing some homework. The U.S. government doesn't like a lot of loose ends.

I think OP is talking about I-129F's approval validity extension.

If you are talking about the extension of noa2,  Each extension would be for 4 months so you should calculate that yourself. and I believe it can be done up to a year but you should contact your embassy.

You can provide (and I would say you need to provide these because you need more than employment letter anyway), W2, or tax return transcripts. Which can help showing your continuous income per year. You can also add your most recent pay stubs (we added 6 months because we also did not have a letter from the employer).

Yeah we need an extension of the time we've been given to gather our documents and submit them to the embassy to then schedule an interview to get the fiance visa. I have about 3 months worth of check stubs from the temp agency I'm employed at. I work at a factory making 10 dollars per hour, 40 hours per week which if multiplied by 52 would Give me 20,800 dollars per year. That would put me 225 I think above the required income. But the agency when asked for an employment verification letter said they couldn't do it and that I would have to call their corporate office. I called the corporate office and they said since i'm a temporary worker they couldn't give me an annual gross income number but that they could send the verification letter straight to the embassy if I can get the embassy to send them an email requesting it.

I'm just worried that either the letter won't have an income number and that might look bad, or it maybe will have a number but I won't be able to see it and it could end up being different to the number i'll give in the affidavit of support.

Also the only job I had in 2017 (my last taxes filed were for that year) was working for my father's small business of which he is sole proprietor. So if he types up an employment verification letter for my small job with him and signs it, will it mean much to the embassy. I have the tax form for that year proving I work for him but no tax transcripts proving my new job I got this year.

Actually I just recounted and realize I have a month and a half worth of check stubs for my current job and 1 or 2 months of other check stubs from other jobs I've done for the temp agency. I wonder what the embassy will think of that. The earlier check stubs have me making money but not quite enough to satisfy the income requirements. My newer checks satisfy the requirements but only for the past month and a half. Will that look bad to the embassy?

Anybody else think we have a chance at getting approved?

Sometime in the next few months when I get made permanent at the factory job my salary will go up to 14 dollars an hour from 10 dollars.

And, sadly I wasn't able to get a cosponsor.

I have experience using a co sponsor using the Jakarta U.S. embassy. They are very picky and for good reason. Because a lot are just trying to get into the U.S. to get citizenship, and will lie, step on, abuse anyone in their way, steal, and do anything possible to make it here as is what happened in my case. Just be careful with these Indonesians. They have decade long plans and are very good at acting and lying. You'll never know. And when you think everything is going OK, boom, she will rob you blind and make you pay child support on her anchor baby.

The co sponsor is just a name that goes on the paperwork. They aren't required to do anything beyond that. They won't be required to support them, or buy them food, or give them a place to live, or even pay their medical bills when their anchor baby is born. The hospital and the taxpayers pay it all. No one follows thru on anything or checks on anything. So if your so sponsor is worried about being responsible for anything after she moves to the U.S., tell them not to worry.

Your number of people in your household affects your income number. So if you don't have a family right now, you are head of your own household and not supporting anyone else. Think about this though. Who is going to pay for her new baby? Are you insured? What's the deductible?  It costs about 40 thousand for each baby, not including all the baby's medical needs and food. If you aren't insured and you don't have that kind of money, and I'm sure you don't, then that means the American taxpayers will be paying. This is what the system is trying to stop.

Sorry if I missed it but are you both already married? If not then what's your plan?

I hope this helps.

how are you going to support someone on $10 an hour? That is not a livable income for one much less 2.

@guyfromky Hm, this is a hard situation to be in and i empathize with you. BUT don't give up if its what you really want. You might consider trying again to find a sponsor as this does sound like it could be an acceptable and legally allowable option for you as USCIS states in their policy. Don't be discouraged, just work harder and try to find a way forward.

I wish you the very best of luck in your process and the good fortune to be with the one you love.

😀😀
