This past winter is honestly the best I've ever had - barely any snow, lighter, warmer. But then again I compare New York to Sweden... So really anything else is to prefer

Recruiters? Be careful before you open up your profile, they can help a lot, but in my experience it's sometimes just better to seek out opportunities yourself. Oh and I forgot about the license thing, must make you crazy not to be able to drive. At least the cats must get a lot of company :sleepy:

In my case I have to work with recruiters, it’s kind of a Japanese company style that's how they recruit. So I’m not really worried about that..

but then Again the one before me got their card the one after me got their card, so if the adjudicator stop playing around mine that would be great 😂

if one gets the green card first than the ead .. then does that mean one can apply for the social security with the green card? haha it seems some people are getting their interviews approval first than receiving their ead

You wont get your GC and THEN the EAD. Once the GC is issued, they do not continue processing the EAD application. Because your EAD application would be cancelled if you received your GC first, the SSN application ON the I765 is null and void so YES, you would have to go in person to apply for your SSN after getting the GC.

Husband got his SSC in the mail yesterday and his combo card last Saturday! I have 3 questions though:

1.) Should we be worried that on his combo card they only included one of his middle initials?

2.) Should we be worried that on his SSC it only has his first and last name, no middle names?

3.) Does anyone have any tips on how to go about learning to drive in the US? Hubby wants to go through a driving school to learn the laws here. He has a valid license from the UK but hasn't driven much here. (I'm a bit too nervous about letting him drive around the DC-MD-VA area). Are there special classes for international drivers or will he just have to get used to the roads on his own?

I'll finally be able to file my taxes now though, and based on what I've read, it seems the best way to do it is just mail them in this year instead of online like I always do.

Hi,

You should be able to make an enquiry for your ead /ap card as you filed early September.

Unfortunately there seems to be no logical order as to when they authorise the ead/ap cards.

For your green card interview, that depends on you local field office and their processing times. For my office it says that it can take up to 22 months. You can check processing times on the link below.

It really depends on your local USCIS office. My case status has said "ready to schedule for a interview" since the beginning of October.

I also learn something from another user RenataIzo.  He learned this information from an infopass session.

So when your "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" it doesn't mean that it's in your local office. It's still at the NBC or where you're applying from. Your local office will ask for an amount of cases for that day or week to conduct the interviews. That's when the NBC will send that certain amount of cases to your local office.
Even though it says "ready to be scheduled for an interview," means that it isn't at the local office yet, but it is in line to be sent. It is still unclear where your specific location is in line or when it will be sent. So, yes roughly anywhere from 10 months to 22 months
