The update simply means that the process at the NBC is over and they have sent it to your LFO. Now you sit in line and wait.

Well at least that's something! I'll take any progress at this point and will happily wait as long as I know that's what I need to do haha. That really makes me feel a lot better - Thank you!

Hello all,

Quick question regarding SSN#.

I am filling up the form SS-5 and in it at point 5 for citizenship - should you tick "Legal alien allowed to work" or "Legal alien NOT allowed to work". I am not sure as the SSN POMS manual RM 10211.530 List of Documents Establishing Lawful Alien Status for an SSN Card says K1 - Fiancé or fiancé of a U.S. citizen - Legal alien allowed to work.

Thanks in advance for helping out!!

Allowed.

At one point in time you could obtain a temp EAD that was valid during your first 90 days. That's why K1s are "allowed" as they need both the EAD and SSN to work.

Thanks @K1visaHopeful I am planning to take the RM 10211.530 copy as a back up for applying in case they ask. Also, I checked my record has not been updates in the SAVE database yet. Should I wait? It's been 2 weeks since I have come and my i94 got updated on December 21st

You wont have a record on the SCC unless your SSN application undergoes Manual Verification.

If you saw me post to check SCC first many moons ago that was in error.

As long as you have a copy of your K1 I94 entry printed and you give it about 10 to 14 business days for DHS to update that entry into the system (ie an updated I94 doesnt mean it's in the system OR it could be and SSA just uses that as an excuse to put you into MV), you can apply.

Hey people!

I haven't posted anything since I was in the K-1 September 2017 filers, but I am back and very confused! Hoping someone has had a similar experience and can share some wisdom.

Basically I've been using the new website to track my AOS process, and randomly decided to download the app again that's connected to the old website, which tells me my i-485 case status changed IN NOVEMBER! I've had no notice whatsoever, and it only changed to "ready to be scheduled for an interview", but now I'm worried that it's been so long since it changed and no interview has actually been scheduled. I called customer service and spoke to a person who was not at all helpful  (just told us our case should be at the California Service Center and the total processing time is 10 - 25 months or something....).

Does anyone know how long it's meant to take for them to schedule an interview after it says it's ready?😞

Edit; I see other people have got the same update, but I'm still wondering if any of you have interview dates yet???

The new website is not updated for some reason. You can also check using the old website USCIS.gov

schedueled for an interview mean that you are in the line the time process may vary. Normally you don’t get a notice when it change.

Hey Berries!

@Naes lovely!❤ It's good to see you once more moving around with your selfless aura.

I missed you, @emekus94 , @NICK & PAULA  (I see we're in November together😉), @Christy&J

I had felt lost for a while now without my usual familiar faces around. I didn't know @Naes retained her berry-lifestyle.

@Naes I'm so sorry about your cat. I guess is the one you moved to Cali with. It's so sad. 😭

We had our wedding in October and filed in November. I had my biometrics in December and currently at "Ready for Interview to be scheduled".

I worry not too much b'cz I'm with hubby (just a one bed-roll-touch not thousands-of-miles of K-1)😂!

I've been reading, cooking (trying different recipes), shopping, trying different countries' cuisines and I find Chinese more fascinating. Also, I will be volunteering in some programs (e.g., American Red Cross Biomedical Services). You know 'we keep busy as we continue on this glorious journey with USCIS'.

I've come to accept that USCIS is definitely a part and parcel of my life. 😎

If you see your case updating on old version, just go to that page, and on the right top side there is a button to sign up. You register to that system, then you add your cases, and turn on notifications in which way you want. In my case new version doesnt work also. So ive registered there and it showinv every step they do to your case, and if any changes they send you notification you choose.

Hahaha! O yea, I admit it. I see you're many steps ahead with your EAD/AP at hand. Congrats, sis. 💓

Mine is Chicago and I'm ready for the wait. 😂

I'm loosing my mind a little bit between all these systems. Just to confirm, once again, the difference between USCIS' websites... It is my understanding that:

— OLD: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do. Is the case tracker app/system even older? Or are these two connected/same?

— NEW: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov (redirects to https://my.uscis.gov/account/applicant after sign-in).

Is that still correct?

In that case, our current status is:
OLD: AOS Ready for Interview / EAD Received / AP Received
Tracker app: AOS Ready for Interview / EAD Received / AP Received
NEW: AOS Received / EAD Received / AP Received

Hoping that we'll start seeing more September AP/EADs this month 🤞

Chicago won't affect your EAD timeline- hopefully it comes for you sooner than mine did!
But u for sure might have to wait a while for that GC 🤣 (I think chicago is like running a year?)

We had our interview Friday in Louisville KY. The IO was pleasant and the interview was quick.

I believe she watched how we acted in the waiting room. My wife teased me about being nervous. I joked with her daughters. We acted like a family.

Our evidence was medical bills bills addressed to the youngest daughter at my address.

I honestly believe the IO had already made her decision before the interview and just needed the data to back up her decision.

were you asked any personal questions??
