Hello all,

A few questions, after submitting my AOS I haven't heard anything as of yet. My wife has a son and was the k2, my question is should I have filed a separate I485, I131, and I765 forms for the child when I filed these concurrently for my wife and paid the fees? Could anyone share some resources for where I can find answers.

Thank you!

NVM guys I was able to find the answers. I have to file separately for i485 and pay the fee.

Hi everyione,

I have appointed for biometrics in few days ,can anyone tell me how much time take for it? And what they do on biometrics? Thanks

I'm sure the time varies slightly depending on the location but generally it seems to be very quick. I was in and out in 30 mins.

You have to fill out a simple form, from what I can remember it asks you your name, date of birth, height, weight, hair color. Then they will take your finger prints.

My biometric appointment scheduled for November 6th in Louisville KY, I’m in NYC now for college so my question is does anyone know if I can do my biometric here in NY and what I should do to change location

Hi Anuta_snowy -

After you raised your bio metrics referral inquiry how long did it take for you to get a response. Did you see online that the officer sent a response If so can you share the timelines ?

in my case I'm sep 4th receive date, still haven't got the bio metrics and I raised bio metrics referral on October 22nd and status still shows it is assigned an officer for response.

Thanks

So to keep some people updated, yesterday I filled my second petition, a brand new one, with this time a check correctly filed (by my wife this time 😅)

I hope this time things will run smoothly , and I hope no rejection, no RFE!

I'm no longer a September filer, probably a late October or a November one but things are back on the tracks and good luck y'all!

So... I just had my Biometrics appointment (29th October). Today I checked my current case's status, and it looks like it's changed from the "finger prints" message to "Case is ready to be scheduled for interview" from 30th October.

Nice to know that I'm being updated but gosh, didn't expect a quick change.

Now the long waiting game I suppose.. getting good at this....

when I did my Biometrics, they ask me for my marriage certificate to show change of last name. just telling this so people is aware of it.

I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you ❤️

Hello, does anyone know processing time for AOS for Chicago, is there any avarige?

Thanks!

Just in cases: your I485 is processed at your state's Field Office. As a K1 you will mail it to the Chicago Lockbox but it doesnt get processed there.

You can check out the processing times for your local FO here :

https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

If you DO live in IL, your I485 will be processed at the closest Field Office to you in IL.

I just checked processing times for you using the search form above. If you indeed live in Chicago, the current processing times for I485 is 11.5 to 28 months.

Just to clarify slightly - your I-485 will be processed at the field office that covers your area, which is usually the closest one and usually within your state, but sometimes one or both of those is not true (particularly if the nearest major city is another state).

You can find the field office that covers where you live here: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices

You can also find the application support center (where you'll do biometrics at) here: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=ASC
