Thank you all, I’m pretty bummed since this morning because of that. How long did it take for them to send your application back?

Around 9 days after they received my application.

so it should be 7 days for them to process as 2 days are the time for the application to return back to my mail box.

dont worry.

I think you're mistaken. There are a few in here who received the same message due to incorrect fee. They just resubmitted the fee with the same package.

Guess you'll just have to wait and see but I'm almost positive you are mistaken in thinking you will have to make a new package.

No I got it right, I know I can send the same package ;) but I just assume that I have to redo my biometrics, and call again to ask to expedite the advance parole again. Unless they keep the same application numbers.

They do keep the same application numbers. Only your received date and priority date will change. Doubt they would make you redo biometrics also but possibly you'd have to call to verify that your AP is still on expedite.

if it’s rejected, then the case number will change. If it’s rfe, then the case number will remain same.

Hey sorry my question wasn't clear.....I meant to ask how long it was going to take USCIS to get me my EAD or interview after biometrics.

EAD is taking 4-6 months right now
So you've got a while to wait

They are currently doing most of June filers.

GC interview depends on your local office so no one can really answer that. Some offices are faster than others and u might get GC before EAD
if you go here: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aoslist.php?cfl=&op5=5,6,8,9,10,11
Filter for ur local office- should help you see when the last person from your local office on VJ got an interview, etc

Not exactly accurate but it should give u an idea

Hi y'all ;)

So following my rejection status of my application, I called the USCIS this morning and it's not a big surprise that they can't really tell me more. And she even told me things that were kind of weird.

So the lady told me that I will have to send my I-485 and then once I have the notice, send my I-131 and I-765 with that notice. She was saying that if I send them altogether they are gonna expect to have the fees for the AOS + fees for the EAD/AP. I guess everyone here sent all his applications together and hadn't any problem with the 1225s fee, right?

Secondly, my check apparently bounced (Even if my bank told me that they didn't try to cash it, I think it was rejected because it wasn't preprinted with my name and address. Can I use one of my wife's check to pay that fee?

And one more thing, my status also changed on the "old" (not myuscis) and in that status it said "On September 7, 2018, we mailed a notice advising you to submit payment within 14 days to correct the deficiency."  But I never received that notice...

I haven't been following your story but let me take a stab at what I think you're trying to ask

My apologies if I don't hit everything

1) If USCIS rejected ur files due to incorrect fee, you gotta resend the package with the correct fee. It's doesn't matter whose name is on the check (i.e. U can use your wife). I've seen people that used their parents check to pay for things. They only seem to care that they get paid. Ideally, you want to be able to have access to the bank account the check is coming from so u can track when they accept the payment.

Keep in mind a check has to be a COMPLETE check. Google what that means-- but essentially, there's gotta be a check number, a bank name, a payor name, etc.

2) Typically, when you file AOS, you may include I-131 and I-765 together for the same low low price of $1,225. lol

Since this is ur second filing, am not sure if the same applies to you (although, I personally think this is a NEW filing- since you will get a new number and start all over again- which means u may file all 3 applications together).

However, the safest option probably is to file for AOS, wait till you get the Notice, then use the notice copy to file I-131 and I-765 for no additional cost.

Keeping in mind this is definitely gonna delay you an additional month or so.

3) If USCIS sent you a notice that you never got, you can call them to try to resend documents.
Although that confused me in this case since you are filing an entire new application. Incorrect fees usually result in a new case file. It's not an RFE that pauses the case so am not sure what they mean by "correct the deficiency"

good luck!

The USCIS lady that I called this morning didn't really seem to know how things work unfortunately. I wanted to have answers and her answers were just adding more confusion. I think this forum is more reliable! Almost everybody files the 3 applications together and it's never an issue like she was telling me.

I don't know either what the status meant by "correct the deficiency", I think this is just an automatic status and they never send me anything.

I just got the status updates saying the applications were rejected, I'm waiting for the return of my package, hope it's not a mess so I can reorganize quick and send it back with a new check! Any idea if the payment by credit card with the form G-1450 might be more reliable?

Yep. Precisely

they're going to reject it.

From what I've read from others, it seems to be you kinda get it in a different format than from what you sent it in

Because I think someone scans them in first before they realize the check is wrong. lol

When you get it, take a look-- if everything you originally gave them is there- I'll prolly think it's fine to just send it back that way?

I never sent mine by credit card but from the few I've heard that used it, It doesn't sound like it's better or worse than a normal check.
it just depends on your preference.

The issue for all is to make sure the amount is correct! $1,225

Not a penny more or less.

I wish u luck!

I think what happened is when they checked the package the first time they saw my check with the correct amount and processed the application but realized later that it wasn't preprinted like it should have been.
