hey guys. and now question about me. ive sent all 3 packages together. got paper noas for i131 and i485 but didnt get for i765 and by email and sms i got 3 receipts. then ive got fingerprint appointment letter...there said for receipts (example msc//////5-msc/////7)
for me that means for 3 cases.when i arrived to uscis woman marked only 2 forms for fingerprints - i485 and i765. i asked her why 2 if i have even receipt on hands for i131. She said there is no receipt number on appointment letter, and i131 exactly between 5 and 7. Should i call uscis?

I-131 doesn’t need fingerprints. It’s normal.

Hello all,

Regarding the AOS process , I had two questions:

1. As per the visa do we have 90 days just to get married after entering US or to get married n file all AOS papers?

2.  After entering US which needs to be done first - marriage or filing for SSN#?

1 - The 90 days are to get married and file the AOS, because once your visa expires your staying is granted by the pending AOS. So if you wait after the 90 days you would be overstaying your visa basically. My advice would be to file your AOS at least 2 weeks before your k-1 expires, because it takes a little time for the package to arrives and for them to open it and notifies you.

2 - You can apply before getting married or after, you just need to wait for your I-94 informations to be updated after your arrival in order to apply. Most of the people here get their SSN before they apply, it seems to be the best choice, or like me you can ask for them to give you a SSN with you EAD cards when filling the I-765, meaning that you don't get a SSN before having your EAD.

I'm just adding that maybe depending on the state you live they may ask you for a SSN to get married but in Texas they didn't

Hi folks, I have a question...

My Bank of America just sent me a W-9 form regarding the savings account I opened with them stating it is required by the IRS for me to submit a W-9. It also states that this form is required only if you are defined as a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien.

So my question is...

• Would I be defined as a U.S. resident alien?

• And even though I'm obviously not working and won't be until probably February do I have to submit a tax return next year?

When your hubby files next year he will most likely file with you jointly because there will be greater tax benefits seeing that you didnt work in 2018. To do so you would claim resident alien status. Dont forget there are tax implications of the income you made in your country prior in 2018 prior to moving to the US if he filed with you as joint. Not saying that you will be taxed in the US on that income but that income will have to be disclosed to your tax preparer to figure out how to file with your best financial interests.
