I haven’t received my 797c yet. Got rejected last week so I sent them again. I need to wait for 797c and then go to dmv to see if I have any luck.

Maybe you'll be lucky and your state accepts the 797C!

Went to motor vehicles today to renew my drivers license, they didn't renew it since my I 94 expired yesterday but I was hoping they'd agree to renew it with the 2 NOAs(ead & aos).

Guess I will use my countries drivers license.

Be wary of using your countries driver's license. Each state's rules are different. In my state (GA) you become a resident after 30 days and can no longer drive on another country's DL even though you cannot get a state DL. I should know.....I was arrested for doing it. Research your state laws thoroughly please.

Yup! I now have a criminal record (misdemeanor) which I had to report and provide documents for at my K1 interview.

Headed to the police department and municipal court on Monday to get certified copies of my arrest and court disposition so I have supporting documents to file my AOS. Investigate your county laws for sure. In my case I had investigated the laws fully and I was driving legally as a tourist according to the state. My out of country license was in English so I did not have to carry my international license or my passport. But the judge and police officer concluded that I was in fact a resident because I lived in the state for more than 30 days even though I was on a tourist Visa therefore I had to have a state drivers license to be driving lawfully even though I could not obtain one with my immigration status or lack of a SSN. They have since changed the written rules on the DMV website for my state stating that the state 30 day law supercedes the rules of driving with an international license. I wasnt the first case either. A college student from Canada got LOCKED UP for a whole weekend for driving with her Canadian license while driving in my state.

They are always itching to bust immigrants for driving when they aren't supposed to.

Damn it's kind of crazy, I have my Texas license and the fine for driving with an expired license is 200 bucks here.

Could be worse if you're not a legal resident too. I'd be careful.

Family,

What's my "current immigration status" for all of these AOS forms? Cant tell you how many times I've gone back and changed my mind. You would laugh.

My heart wants to put "K1 Visa Holder married to US Citizen Petitioner within 90 days" but I know I'm being uber overzealous....

My immigration status has not changed at all because I'm still within my 90 days so I'm still "in status". Only thing that has changed is I'm married.

Advice?

Hello everyone, i just received my interview notice, its for Nov 15. I wished that is this month but still very good. I hope everyone else gets their notices soon.

Wait, I'm so confused. So from filing to green card interview is less than three months? How does that even make sense? You would have a green card before the EAD even gets processed.

Yep :) rfe during interview is possible, but you’re in line for interview, as rfe can stop an AOS from getting in line.
