@raiiley

lets go one by one,

so you took your medical in the "do not open" packet from your embassy, and gave it to POE right?

did you completed all your vaccination in your home country? or do you need vaccinations? why do you think you need to submit I-693?

To any one who needs this info about I-693I didn’t do vaccination on K-1, and my medical record packet were held by the POE, when I apply AOS I submitted the complete I-693 sealed by the civil surgeon,  the civil surgeon completed the form according the copy of my medical record that I done on K-1 and with the vaccination record that i did here in the states. My AOS status is ready to be schedule for interview so far, so I guess Im not getting a RFE means my I-693 is fine by this way.

So we got the email and text notifications 09/12 with my husbands case numbers but have yet to receive the hard copies, do you think we should call and request copies? Or is it too soon?

It is too soon. you should give it about 4 weeks as website says.

Hi,

I had a question about the medical result, when we entered the U.S at POE in Chicago. They held on to our medical result, and the guy was saying that after they review, they'll send it to our address, it's been 2 months since we entered the U.S and we have everything ready to apply for our AOS. but we still haven't received our medical records back from the POE.

What should we do?

@Naes @Greenbaumdo you have any suggestions?

Your original form is with your other medical results and was turned over to USCIS at POE as you have stated. That's actually the one that counts because it remained in the "chain of custody" so you didn't have an opportunity to alter it. The photocopy isn't really an official copy and is more for a reminder that you got complete at your visa exam. Of course without having a copy, you don't have the opportunity to see if the rest of the form was completed correctly.

All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received.

It is entirely possible that you may receive an RFE for the vaccination supplement (Form I-693), and possibly even for the full medical (Form I-693), even if the medical is current.

Yes,

I came with K1 visa, we had our wedding and our marriage license. And now we're filing AOS and we also need to submit the form I693, and they ask for civil surgeon, is this suppose to be another physician in the U.S? Do I need to be seen by another doctor and this person will fill out on this from?

When I was reading the instruction, they said that if we had our medical exam oversea, we don't need to do another one, so I thought we'd need to send in our medical result but mine was being held at the POE.

I'm very confused because I couldn't find the forum where they discuss the process of filling AOS after K1. If you know where the portal is, that'd be a great help

Ahaaaaa, that way...okey.. good to know... i think i will just let it go as it goes...

What you are doing guys while waiting for work permit? Im going a bit crazy, even i live next to the beach, already treating it as annual pass to the gym 🤣.

To be unemployed is not for me at all...

It's probably more stressful then waiting for your visa. Find things to do. Get out an meet people. Go to Starbucks. If you se someone there that you think you might want to have a conversation with, just go up and introduce yourself and let them know you are new in the USA and you had a few questions to ask. Could you sit with them. Yes, sometimes you will get a "no" for answer as they had plans but sometimes people are killing time while enjoying a cup of coffee. Volunteer somewhere helps keeps you busy. Good luck. Maybe other can chime in and help.

Just got the text with our receipt numbers for fingerprint and EAD. Should there have been one for the AOS?

Fingerprint is the AOS(I-485)

I'm guessing it says fingerprint fee is received.

in the notification text, you should have a date in case you didn't receive any hard copy prior to that date you can then call them (i will assume that the date is the beginning of October).
