Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I’m just nervous slightly because i did it on my own with no lawyer but we have a very simple case and i checked it like 7 times before sending it off so I’m hopeful 🤞🏼

Right. I understand...i did mine myself. .and ours is simple too...i dont really think its always on us ...they seperate our packages and  too many hands touch it in my opinion and they dont want us to use staples...i tried to label almost everything and i put a table of contents...so who knows...unless you missed something...my only concern is the internet website thing... i could not reach any1 on the website to confirm that they are not subject to imbra... but i included my own detailed statement and terms of conditions that said the website is free..thats all i could do...and thats all i could see that may be an issue but i explained it in several different ways. Lol. We shall see.

Can't get truly reliable numbers, but just for a snapshot … for May filers (the last month where pretty nearly everyone has a NOA2 on their timeline if they're going to put one in), 45/293 timelines here reported an RFE. So about 15%. On the other hand, there are a lot of reasons why people with RFEs might be overrepresented here, and I don't think real numbers from USCIS are public.

Thank you.

Case Approved!

NOA1: Sept 10th 2018

NOA2: January 22nd 2019

Just received a letter in the mail, the websites were not updated. Good luck to everyone!!!

Congratulations.

1. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

2. Head on over to this link as it is the next place you want to be. Read the first post in this thread for updated information to help you along.

Did anyone find out via text /email? We signed up for that G1145 form, and were notified of our NOA1 via text before we got the letter in the mail. Just wondering if anyone got their NOA2 that way?

I found out by checking the New Website!  I also filled out the G1145 form and was notified via text and email about the NOA1, but nothing for the NOA2.  The old website still just says "received" and we have yet to receive anything in the mail.  So, only new website for us!

Anyone know how USCIS processes the petitions? Is it one person for each case that gets to decide to approve or not...or is it mulitiple officers??

I can offer a glimpse of what goes on with your case while it passes through the hands of different entities at USCIS. So, I can only assume your case (electronically not physical) is touched by a number of different departments. I will also share with an article from 2015 even though it is a little old I don't see things would have changed much.

REEVES MILLER ZHANG & DIZA

US Immigration

https://www.rreeves.com

Routine Criminal Checks are performed by immigration officials by using the Consular Lookout and

Support System (also known as “CLASS”). This system contains information on criminal

convictions, FBI records, and terrorist watch lists. The system is updated very regularly, and is a

valuable tool of national security to immigration officials.

How Can a Lengthy Delay be Prevented?

Although the initiation of certain security checks on the part of consular officers is entirely

discretionary, some checks can be prevented if all necessary information is provided to the officers

during the application process, thus speeding up the overall process. Special attention must be

given to the information submitted on visa forms and in supplemental documents. All post-specific

directions must be followed carefully and all manner of supporting documentation must be

included.

Because many names are common to many people (e.g. “Maria Gonzalez” or “Jin Wang”), false

hits sometimes occur. Special care must be given to such cases so that the proper documents are

obtained for presentation to immigration authorities. In the instance of a criminal hit, court

dispositions, arrest records, and legal briefs can be submitted to immigration authorities for

clarification.

The Department of State’s Visa Office will field public inquiries in regards to long-pending checks

of over 90 days. However, due to security concerns, little information is usually forthcoming.

Contrary to popular belief, congressional offices are unable to help expedite visa issuance. The

Department of State considers security checks to be a matter of national security and is not willing

allow applicants to bypass the clearance process.

The only circumstance under which expediting security clearance is viable is if there is a significant

U.S. government interest or humanitarian interest. A request to expedite is normally requested at

the post where the visa was originally applied for, and ultimately adjudicated by the Washington

D.C.’s Visa Office

Security Advisory Opinion (SAO) or Washington Special Clearance,[1] commonly called security clearance, administrative clearance, or administrative processing,[2] is a process the United States Department of State and the diplomatic missions of the United States use in deciding to grant or deny a United States visa to certain visa applicants. The process involves sending a request from the visa issuing post to the Department of State's headquarters in Washington, D.C., to investigate an individual's case for possible espionage, terrorism, and illegal export of technology out of the United States
