Thanks Segun, the police report and medical is done though I have to go back again to complete another process of the medical. Visa fee has also been paid. I tried to schedule an interview all through yesterday and today. it's requesting I complete my transaction. Don't know what transaction it's referring to. Intend to try again tomorrow and if I don't get through then I might have to go to the embassy area to have those business center guys do it for me.

The fiancé(e) K-1 nonimmigrant visa is for the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen. The K-1 visa permits the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) to travel to the United States and marry his or her U.S. citizen sponsor within 90 days of arrival. 1.  Once your file is received at post, an instruction package will be sent to you by email.
2. First you need to pay the visa fee at one of Aramex offices, and then you have to register and schedule a K-visa appointment through the online appointment system at

3. Assemble the required documents that are listed on the instruction package.
4. Schedule a medical examination with the Embassy-approved physician in Algiers at least 15 days before your visa interview
5. If the visa is issued, your passport and documents will be available in approximately 7-10 business days at Aramex office that you already selected for pick up or delivery.
6. If the visa is refused, the Consular Officer will provide you with further information.

Hey everyone. I have been lurking this website almost daily since I started the whole K-1 Visa process back in March. I finally decided to sign up and join the community here!

 

Today, October 15th, I called the NVC and received our Case# and Invoice#! The status says "AT NVC". I called on Thursday and it still wasn't in so I'm guessing this arrived either on Friday or today to the NVC. Our NOA2 date was September 24th.

 

I'm curious to know if anyone here can share how long it took them to go from "AT NVC" to "IN TRANSIT" to "READY". I want to know how long this NVC step will take. I do have an idea of how long the embassy will take and the time when we can get the interview done but the NVC step I can't seem to find an answer on here.

Call again later tonight before closing and if nothing first thing in the morning. They usually approve a slew of applicants just before they send out the batch to the Embassy.

First things first. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. Now to answer your question. Allow about 30-45 days to your interview. Currently it's been taking about 2 weeks for USCIS to send the file to NVC. Then it's been taking about 2-3 weeks for NVC to assign the case number. Then it's taking another 2-3 week depending on the Embassy to receive your case. Your mileage may vary!

I hear ya there... some of us have to be. But, they don't see it as we do. They want the "NOW" answer and can't be bothered to do any leg work on there own.

How true. I wonder how many people they allow you to block. I have a large list of sissy's that I have blocked and will not respond to any of their questions to lend help. I wouldn't want them to get upset again.

You probably will never reach my record.   I love that feature as I can block their posts, their quotes and they can't contact me either by posting in a thread or PM. They are dead to me.  I just go back to my reading and posting.

Great! Thank you for the advice. I filled out as much as I could and now have a more complete timeline and profile.

 

30-45 days from today would be great. That would probably mean I can spend Christmas with my Fiance here in the US if everything goes well. 😎
