Hmmmm this has probably been said but I thought I’d update the UK folks. I received my NVC # last night (we called, NOA2 24th September), and I went ahead and booked my medical. I was so lucky and got an appointment for next Thursday (18th). When I received the email it said this as one of the documents I need to bring...

  1. Summary of medical history from GP (NOT full medical records) and reports covering any medical conditions, disabilities, and prior serious illnesses you have been treated for or anything ongoing. This is a new requirement and may not yet be added to the checklist online or the US EMBASSY LONDON website.

We will keep your medical on hold if you do not have it with you on the day of the appointment.

Ask your GP for a Patient Summary/Care Summary.

Anyway I just thought I’d put it here, I actually went to the doctors this week to get my vaccinations printed off and will need to go again to get this printed. Just hoping I stop someone from needing to do 2 trips :)

I do have a question, it says I need to bring this document...

  1. A Letter/Email from the embassy/NVC to confirm your case number and visa category

As I only got the NVC number last night over the phone have I jumped the gun with booking the appointment? Could I take my NAO2 letter?

It would be better to post/ask in U.K. Forum.https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

but, I believe it's ok to just have case number. They may ask for it to be forwarded once u recieve it. Don't quote me as I'm not sure tho

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

@BJ & Christine thank you, I think I’ve read that it’s ok but of course I wanted to double check. I hope it’s all going smoothly for you guys.

My medical is on the 29th, NOA2 Sept 18. I left it a few weeks because I wanted to wait till NVC case status shows 'In Transit.'  I am bringing an email we received from NVC after filling out an 'Ask NVC' question form online. We filled one out just after our NOA2 and received the email from NVC stating case number and visa category on the email. That's what I'll be bringing. I've read of some people taking a screenshot of their CEAC status to prove case number at the medical. From what I've read, they just want to make sure that the case number you gave them over the phone when booking the medical is correct so that it doesn't cause any hassle when they transfer medical results to London embassy.

I haven’t even received anything from NVC yet. I did email them once my NOA2 was received, but last Friday they emailed to tell me that they hadn’t received my case yet, please contact us in 6 weeks, blah blah blah! I may do that confirm email thing again and see if they email me back with the NVC #. I think that’ll be enough proof.

How long was it from your NOA2 until you received an email from NVC

2 weeks and 5 days after NOA2, we got an email. I believe it was received on the same day we called and got the case number. Yeah, I would fill another one out and see if they get back to you. If you still receive nothing, you could just print off your CEAC Status that has case number on it, at least then you're not going there without having anything at all :) by the way, have you gotten all your vaccines? My GP won't give me the flu shot because apparently I don't fit the category for having a flu jab. Might go to Boots/superdrug and get it done or just have it done at the medical. Good luck with the remaining steps!

Hello,

I booked my interview today (October 31st). Do you think it is safe to book the ticket to the US for 3 weeks after the interview?

Also, it is so much cheaper to get a round trip ticket than a one way one. Can this be a problem at the POE? I intend to just not use the return ticket.

Thank you

Unless you have travel insurance that will cover this sort of situation, which I highly doubt that you could get covered for such a thing, I would not buy any ticket before you have the visa in your hand. Here is the warning that your Embassy is giving you:

Do not finalize arrangements for travel to the United States, dispose of property, or resign from your job until a visa has been issued and delivered to you. Generally, a single-entry fiancé(e) (K1) nonimmigrant visa is valid for six months from the date of issuance, unless its validity is limited by medical or other restrictions.

Oh well we’re nearly at 2 weeks and 5 day so it should be all fine. I’ve just messaged them again and as you say I can take the CEAC with me. I feel loads better now, thanks!

I did, I just got it in tescos whilst doing my food shop! However word of warning, they’ve added an extra string to the flu jab this year. Normally there’s 3 types of flu in it but this year there’s 4! I’ve had a nasty allergic reaction and after seeing the nurse today most of the staff at my doctors are having similar reactions! It was only £9.

Goodluck with everything ♥️

Q. When does the flu season start for purposes of the seasonal flu vaccine requirement? Since the seasonal flu vaccine is required, do I have to get the seasonal flu vaccine if it is not the flu season?
A.  For purposes of the immigration medical examination, the flu season starts on October 1 and ends on March 31 each year. If your immigration medical examination is during this period, you are required to have the seasonal flu vaccine. If you have an immigration medical examination completed between April 1 and September 30, when it is not the flu season for immigration purposes, you are not required to document that you have received the seasonal flu vaccine.
