Anybody at NVC waiting for Juarez Consulate? Is there a easier way to find out?

1.  Use the tools here in VJ to answer "when I am going to get etc. etc." question. Near your picture, there is a link to your timeline. Select it and once you're on the next page near your picture you will see "follow similar timelines" and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement for when others from your Embassy are getting the same notice of approval or action.  Try it. It really works!

2. And if you want to follow those from other countries that have similar timelines as yours there are several tools available to you. Go up to Immigration Timelines on the blue ribbon above and select it. Once you are on the next page looked to your left and you will see a box that states, "find similar timelines" and select it. A list will populate with those who are processing close to your timeline. When they start to change you will soon be behind them.

Hey so does anyone know if this Visa Fee they refer to in Packet 4 sent with the K1visa is referring to a brand new fee that is paid during the interview or is the same Fee I paid on the CGI federal site when I scheduled my interview. Because in Packet 4 it discusses a three hundred something fee but when I did my scheduling it was only a 265 fee.

That's the fee for a CR-1 so you can ignore paying that fee.

Just a bit of advice needed guys...I’ve booked my medical for 14th November, case is still at NVC. My fiancé in America has just found out sadly that her dad has potentially a few weeks left to live and has been put into hospice and it’s been a massive shock to the family. I was wanting to go over for a couple of weeks. As long as I have my return ticket and maybe my proof of medical exam and I obviously explain the reason if asked do you think I will be ok to travel? Any info/thoughts would be massively appreciated. 😊

I think you should be fine if you have the necessary documentation to pass through immigration for this trip.

hey everyone, im currently scheduling an interview and was wondering if the petitioner can pay for the visa fee.

This is the best place to ask those questions. I'd be hard press to say that anyone here has any idea how things work for the Embassy at Japan. Having said that I offer you the Japanese thread with discussion on what to do to attain your visa from Japan.

This is the P3 letter that explains everything.

Hello,

Its been 11 business days since I received NOA2, so I’ve been thinking about calling the NVC to ask for my new case number.

Is the beneficiary able to call and get the case number or does it have to be the petitioner? Only because USCIS has declined answering my questions in the past and my partner (petitioner) had to call them back 🙄

cheers

alice

In most cases the petitioner is allowed and the beneficiary is not. Some beneficiary's have called and acted as though they were the petitioner and received information and other not. So it's Your choice.

My fiance just booked his physical for Nov 16 in Jakarta, hopefully the case file will arrive at US embassy in Jakarta around the same time, the file is currently at NVC. The hospital only needed the case number and not a copy of packet3

Your calling the wrong people. You should be calling USCIS.  If your case hasn't been received by NVC within four weeks, it may be worth your time to try calling USCIS and getting to talk to a Tier 2 to see if your case has been mailed out.  Some of the Tier 1 people will tell you your case left on the day of your approval notice or that nothing can be done until it has been 90 days.  My understanding is that Tier 1 does not have access to when your case was actually mailed by USCIS.  If you run into a stubborn Tier 1 that doesn't want to let you talk to Tier 2, I would suggest hanging up and trying your luck calling again.  Hopefully you will get a Tier 1 that wants to help.

Thanks @Greenbaum for your helpful reply.

Could you please advise us on the number that we should be calling USCIS at- for follow up?

Hi everyone. I have a question about the form i134 and the income requirements.

My fiance got his job in august 2017 and he makes way over the minimum requirements. To show his current income we got his employer letter, his pay stubs, his 401k funds form and the ownership of a house.

The problem is that he was self employed until last year and, since he started his new job in august and he got a loss on his business, his tax returns from 2017 is below the poverty line.

Should we get a cosponsor or, because his income is higher now, we are fine?

Thank you

You need to get NVC case number to be able to check status of the visa, Do that by calling or using the email form. Then do an immigrant visa check with the NVC #, which will start with three letters correlating to your chosen embassy. It will show 'NVC' 'In transit' or 'Ready'

The Embassy is only concerned with his current ability to support "the household" to which you have answered he has more than enough since starting this new job. No co-sponsor IMHO is needed, but you do need to comply with what the Embassy is asking for in the way of financial information so they can substantiate your claim of meeting the poverty level. This is a step that I would be sure to cross all my "t's and dot my I's" as you never know what they will ask.
