IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

Redundancy is very common in many complex systems, not just bureaucracy. 😉

Emailed received from nvc this afternoon saying case is in transit. Me and fiance both received it.  About a 6 hour difference between ceac and the email.

I also received my letter with also about a 6 hour difference. Guess it makes sense since they have to fill out the form letter with all the important information.

My case is also in transit today.

Lots of questions here about what to do next. Look up your embassy and check their webpages on the K1 visa process. Every embassy has one. They also have their contact information listed. Give them a call and ask them or shoot them an e-mail. As has been said many many times and will continue to be repeated: Past the USCIS, it's all country specific. The embassy you will be working with has all the information you need and they've probably heard your question before as they process literally thousands of these cases.

Update:

After e-mailing NVC yesterday to request that I be updated by e-mail should any changes to my case occur, they've now e-mailed me informing me that my petition has been sent to the embassy and attached an official-looking letter that has our case number and other information. For Manila applicants, I think this is the one that we can print out and bring to perform the medical with.

If the email has your case number, then yes that can be used for the medical. It's in the links I gave you as one of the options along with the others.

The research is for your benefit so that you understand the process and that you anticipated the timeline that this process would take and if you moved forward with submitting a 129f then I can only conclude that you know what your "risks" are.

Background checks.

As part of its benefits adjudication process and as required by law, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) conducts background checks on petitioners and applicants who seek certain immigration benefits. These background checks consist of four separate checks against systems within Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In order to facilitate the collection and transmission of information necessary to complete background check processes, USCIS maintains five information technology electronic systems: the Fingerprint Masthead Notification System (FMNS), the Customer Identity Capture System (CICS), the FD-258 Tracking System - Mainframe (FD-258 MF), the Benefits Biometrics Support System (BBSS), and the Interagency Border Inspection System (IBIS) Manifest. USCIS is conducting this privacy impact assessment (PIA) because FMNS, CICS, FD-258 MF, BBSS, and IBIS Manifest collect, use, and share personally identifiable information (PII). This PIA replaces the previously published USCIS PIA for the "Background Check Service (BCS)" which describes planned background check-related systems that were never implemented. Upon publication of this PIA, the BCS PIA will be retired.

Additional screening and background checks based on country of birth, citizenship, or residency in the “State Sponsors of Terrorism” (T-7) list: Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, Syria; or from the “List of 26”: Afghanistan, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, Yemen. This is a mandatory stop list and allegedly takes 2 to 4 days, thanks in part to the partially rolled out PATRIOT (Pre-Adjudicated Threat Recognition and Intelligence Operations Team) system managed by ICE, but often take 3 to 6 weeks and if there is a hit who knows how long.

Security Advisory Opinion (SAO) or Washington Special Clearance,[1] commonly called security clearance, administrative clearance, or administrative processing,[2] is a process the United States Department of State and the diplomatic missions of the United States use in deciding to grant or deny a United States visa to certain visa applicants. The process involves sending a request from the visa issuing post to the Department of State's headquarters in Washington, D.C., to investigate an individual's case for possible espionage, terrorism, and illegal export of technology out of the United States.

Greenbaum our medical examiner in San Salvador sent my fiancee home today because she didn't have a letter from the actually embassy for the interview. She even showed them the appointment confirmation we have for the 18th and the case number from NVC and DS160 confirmation and it was still not sufficient.

Our case is in Transit now and scheduled for interview the 18th. I feel we are running out of time to get the medical finished before that date and we don't want to have to reschedule.

How long will my case typically be in transit for until it changes to Ready so i can email my embassy?

Email NVC for a copy. E-mail: NVCInquiry@state.gov    I highly recommend you email NVC for the case #, even if you call and get it, this will give you a correspondence from NVC with the case # for future reference.  The email request for your MNL # is also a great way to track when your file is forwarded to your Embassy as NVC will not reply to the email until that time.

REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:

You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:

* NVC Case Number or USCIS Receipt Number (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).

* Petitioner's name and date of birth.

( NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based, include the employer's company/organization name instead of the petitioner's name and date of birth. )

* Principal Applicant's name and date of birth.

Was the invoice number we received the number we need to pay a fee of some sort? I am so wildly confused. We were approved sept 14, and called two weeks later to get our case number and they gave us an invoice number as well. Was I suppose to pay something before they sent it out?! Bleh

For starters u jump the gun big time.

Transit can take any where from 1 to 3 weeks. And embassy can take 1 to 3 months doing there checks.

Since u can't attend medical or interview (in most countries) with out nvc hard copy. Its technically a guessing game. A lot of people get lucky cus there medical and interview are at least a month from the time they receive nvc #.

Seem ur country has a fast lane and things move much quicker..
