You track it as a "immigrant" visa. The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non-immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links (what you received in the email) will send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 and DS-260 even though it truly is a non-immigrant visa requiring I-134 and the DS-160. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant (ceac.state.gov/). It stays that way until after your interview and the approval and your visa is ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non -immigrant. It truly is a non-immigrant visa with immigrant intent.

After you get your case number from NVC it would be a good idea if you were to connect with the VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Colombia and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

Get the US Embassy Colombian K-1 Packet 3 (P3) at  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7hB3bl9Snfkb0NiMVFUd2JsVjA/view  as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for your country so that you are up to speed.

http://bogota.usembassy.gov/

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages and here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Colombia&cty=Bogota

Good luck and God's speed.

Thank you yet again, Greenbaum. I've been scouring through all those sub forums for extra tibits and help. I imagine it can take a couple weeks to be forwarded to the embassy. Do you have to wait until it is received by the embassy to complete the DS160? Or is it okay to start that prior? I'm assuming we should wait because I believe you book the interview online immediately after completing the DS160... and that would be a problem if the embassy hasn't received the packet by the interview date?

Hiya guys!

Our NOA2 was September 14th, and I have waited diligently the two weeks advised before calling NVC, and they informed me today (Friday the 28th) after first time calling at 2:15pm EST and being on hold for about half hour that our case was received but to call back for a case number on Monday! So ours took exactly 2 weeks.

My beneficiary is Australian.

Hope this helps!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

I called NVC again last night and after being told the day before they had just received it (9/26), they finally gave me a case no! Things seem to be moving a lot quicker now!

So for those who had been told there case had been received at NVC on 26th Sept and hadn't received a case no, you might want to try asking again in case its already done now!

On another note, @Greenbaum , how do you know the next shipment date is 10/3?

Because that is what we have witness for the past 2 months and soon I'll be saying that it has been true for the past three months because 10/3 is the anniversary week of when this started 3 months ago. Like I have said, and told many, and others have said the same things in their posts about this process, this is what it is until such time NVC changes it. It's new and nothing has been officially written in a regulation or memo from NVC so there is nothing I can offer you other then my observations. Your mileage may vary.
