Hi!

I asked NVC for the processing time from NVC to US Emabassy in Japan and I got reply from them and now I am so confused!

Do I need to fill out DS 261???? Can I just igonore this???

Here is reply from NVC

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The NVC can't give an overall processing time because we don't know how long it will take someone to complete and send required documents. For current processing times, please visit our website at nvc.state.gov/submit (English) or nvc.state.gov/enviar/espanol (Spanish). We will send more information after completing our review.

To continue processing your immigrant visa case, you will need to designate an agent. Please complete Form DS-261 (Online Choice of Address and Agent). We will send instructions for paying the immigrant visa application fee after processing your DS-261. We will send all future correspondence to the agent you selected.

If the principal applicant is under the age of sixteen, the principal applicant's parent or guardian may sign the form.

Please complete and submit Form DS-261 at http://ceac.state.gov.

For more information regarding the immigrant visa application fee, or for answers to frequently asked questions, visit http://nvc.state.gov for English orhttp://nvc.state.gov/espanol for Spanish.

For your case to continue, you need to pay one or more processing fees. Please go to http://ceac.state.gov and log in with your case number and your invoice ID number. Here are your numbers:

Hi ! So I'm a dentist in my country Colombia and one day I want to get a license to work as a dentist in the USA.

On the form DS-160 I am asked this

Are you a health care worker seeking to perform such work in the United States but have not yet received certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools or from an equivalent approved independent credentialing organization?

I don't have a license yet. Should I say "yes" or will it affect my application for my K-1 visa?

Thanks!

I second this question!!!

My fiance is a Radiology Technician and is currently working in a hospital in Istanbul. He wants to continue doing his job when he gets here. Last time I visited, we got his transcripts translated into English and did some of the leg work for seeing what he needs to do to get an equivalent approved credential.....  It looks like he will have to take 2 years of school again after he gets here. It really sucks.

But yeah... what do we put there???

Why do you make this sound like it could potentially be an issue?

The fact that they have health care jobs is an excellent quality to possess when coming into the U.S. Also, possibly having to go to school again would give the economy quite a chunk of money. Also, health care workers in Turkey (not sure about other countries) have to get government clearance and quite intense background checks, HIV test, Police clearance, etc etc.

lt all sounds like positives to me :)

@Naes  , do you have any thoughts?

It could be a issue if u said no. That's what I was getting at. Maybe I wasn't clear enough.

Any thing to to do with medical is highly sought after here in the states. Have many family members that work in the medical field.

So DS-160 can only be filled in English but the confirmation page can be printed in different languages?

Every document that you submit at your interview with your Embassy must be transcribed to English. So having the ds-160 form in a different language will help your case but delay it.

Not for ds-160. It can be done that way.

each embassy will accept English and the local language printed version. Because it is just the confirmation page with instructions.

I wasn't aware of that especially after all the "preaching" that the Government agency's does to have your documents in English for this process. Thanks for the correction.

Yeah this is not really counted as document apparently. They send everything in English online, but only the confirmation page comes out in local. Mine automatically was in Japanese, I actually had to change it if I wanted to get the English one.
