@Greenbaum thanks so much for the great support as always!

Possibly there are two issues here, the website is overloaded and or your case has not been updated. Usually with in 24 hours you can see your status.

When the Embassy is ready to issue a visa, it will change to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application"; at that time, you will know that you are a few days away from getting the visa. It will go from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application" status and then your visa changes to "Ready" ==> "Administrative Processing" ==>> "Issued" status as well. These steps sometimes transpire over a day or even a few days. Some smaller Embassy's it happens within hours.

Sometimes, it might skip "Administrative Processing" and go from "Ready" to "Issued".

@Greenbaum now it changed to "Application Received" in the CEAC tracker. I got a paper at the interview that says 'Congratulations, your K-1 visa application has been approved'. I asked the consular officer if it meant I can quit my job now, because I really want to be there for Christmas, he said well, I can't officially advise you that but everything looks good. They said I'll receive my passport with the visa in about a week. Do I need to worry about Administrative Processing Delays or anything or is it safe to quit now?

Every embassy states this somewhere on their website or in the instructions:

Do not finalize arrangements for travel to the United States, dispose of property, or resign from your job until a visa has been issued and delivered to you. Generally, a single-entry fiancé(e) (K1) nonimmigrant visa is valid for six months from the date of issuance, unless its validity is limited by medical or other restrictions.

I have witness when someone has done one of those advises and the outcome was not pretty.

Oh I could give a long list of reasons and examples. You could even use the search box here on VJ and you will get hundreds of examples. Don't be one of them. Just wait it out.

Oh I better not start, I'll freak out haha. Mine went into 'Application Received' - it says ready for fingerprints and required docs. If you already had your visa interview, please check your status after 2 business days. So, I'm gonna see what it will say tomorrow.

Hello everyone! Our case has been ready at the Nigerian embassy in Lagos for weeks now, and there are still “no interview dates available.” I have the auto refresh on my browser, but there has been no change, no calendar, just nothing. Is it possible to move the case from Lagos to another embassy in Nigeria? Or are we just stuck waiting with no real end in site lol. I just need a date, any date will do. There just needs to be an end in site lol.😣

Unfortunately, the Nigerian Embassy is the worse for having to wait. I think I read some where that they only do interview on one day of the week. Just keep updating the browser and hope for a change. BTW, you can move your case but you need to be a resisdent of that country for 6 months and there is no other embassy in Nigeria.

This little software tool was used to get appointments during the expedited Typhoon Yolanda for Philippine applicants when there were no appointments showing, and when one appeared it was snapped up pretty fast.  So, others began using this little gem and were able to get appointments faster than others.

I recommend using c4c (check4change at http://www.check4change.com/ ) with a refreshing window every 4 seconds from the dashboard using custom menu of c4c to nab an appointment that comes available.  The software will check for any changes on the website for the time you choose to set. I used 4 seconds.

If you do not have Firefox installed you can get a copy here for free: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/  Yes, install Firefox just to use c4c coz the add-on for Chrome and Internet Explore (IE) didn't really work that well. I tried them on a test website before using it grab a new date or for some any date, just to see how the add on works.

My laptop was on all night long every night for the last 4 nights, it got me up couple times but the dates didn't fit my scheduling. Soon as there is a change on the scheduling website the music will start and you can book it if you like the date. With this system the booking process is 10 seconds from the time a new date is available. Just push continue, the calendar will appear, select the date you want and click "schedule". And now you have a interview date scheduled. The petitioner can take a shift and the beneficiary can take a shift since most are on the other side of the world. Set your computer/laptop next to the bed and when the alarm goes off get up and book the interview. When you are at work then the beneficiary who is sleeping will do the same on their end.

Good luck.

Thank you for your response! I've been reading a lot of posts on VJ and most of them confirm that you do not need a letter from the bank as long as you are above the poverty line based on your employment letter and IRS Transcrips and the following should definitely be enough as per those posts:

1) Online Bank Statement for the last 3 months
2) IRS Tax Transcripts for the last 3 years
3) W-2 for the last 3 years
4) Letter from the Employer
5) Pay Stubs from the last 3 months

However, those posts are not that recent there I would be relieved if someone here can confirm?

I'm just trying to avoid the bank letter because I've heard the bank (Chase, in my fiancee's case) trouble a lot to give such documents. Can anyone share their experience on this?

Thank you, EVERYONE, in advance :)

If I were you I would listen n do what the official website says rather than listening to people here one because they aren’t from your Embassy and two it’s always better to be safe then sorry, Three - information given is not always accurate n may not work for your Embassy.

You can do what everyone says here n then get stuck with a 221g there because of one paper - that’s your choice.

I am just giving you an advice as someone who had already had their interview at Mumbai and got approved.

All the best anycase for your interview!!

As Greenbaum said, you can move your case to US embassy in Abuja, I don’t know how busy it is over there though and I don’t know the process. It took me about 3 weeks to get an interview date in Lagos for Jan 31st and no available appointment since then.
