Yes, it will be part of the case number. So the first three digits of the 13 digit number will be three letters which is your Embassy. Why do you ask is their a concern that it may go to the wrong Embassy? Or something else?

Bonus: How to Find Out WHEN Your Case Number was Assigned

For those that don't call every single day and want to know exactly what date their case number was assigned, there's an easy way to find out that simply involves looking at your case number. The first three letters are the three-letter consulate/embassy code. The next four numbers are the year the case number was assigned. The next three numbers are the Julian date it was assigned, plus 500. And finally, the last three numbers are the sequential order of when it was assigned that date. You can find a chart with Julian dates here [10].

For example: MTL2014815162. Let's put some lines in to divide it up. So: MTL|2014|815|162. This means that this case is going through Montreal and the number was assigned on November 11th, 2014, and it was the 162nd case that day to be assigned a number.

I posed the question because my fiance was in Turkey studying when I filed but she is now back home. In i-129f I requested the embassy that handles her home country which is in Almaty and she lives in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

To what you said, however, I dont see anything on the NOA2 that would indicate the embassy. I'm guessing you are referring to the NVC case number which is not on NOA2.

NVC will give the embassy specified case number and send it to the embassy that was written as the recent physical address on the petition.

Nvc case number won’t be available till your case reaches NVC (hence will not be on noa2)

when you get the case number, you can contact the embassy you want to use and ask the case to be transferred from Turkey.

I have yet to receive my NOA2 in the mail but does the notice indicate which embassy the case is forwarded to?

Now I see your initial question.

the answer is no. But please read what I wrote above as it explains how NVC decides on embassy to forward to and what you can do.

good luck :)

Hey guys, what number have you all been using to call NVC? The 603-334-0700 for immigrant visa or 603-334-0888 for non-immigrant visas? I know the K1 is technically a non-immigrant visa that turns into an immigrant visa so Im confused on who I should contact.

Hey have you received you're case number yet?

We have the same dates all the way through, just called NVC they said they haven't received our case yet. Was more a hopeful call after reading your post.

Anyone else got their case number yet

Yaaay date twins lol well I just called and the lady said it’s in “process for a case number as we speak” so I gave her a minute or two and then she was able to give me the case number!!!! Just try to call back later.

I called 603-334-0888 when I called the other number the first time the lady on the phone told me to call the other one since for the process we are at right now falls under a “non-immigrant” visa.

Hello Everyone.  I received an email on Friday at 6pm that my case is approved.   I see that you have to wait 10 days before calling NVC is that 10 days from the approval date?  Also what should I be doing now?  Anyone has any new information dealing with the Peru Embassy.  What's the usual time line from NVC to Embassy.

Thanks in advance for your help

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

I'm sorry if this had already been asked. But I would like to know if NVC processes cases at all the same rate or do they process cases going to some embassies faster than to others?

Let's say a petition going to the Philippines and a petition going to Russia, will they process and send one out faster than the other or are given the same attention?

Hi

NOA2 : Sep 1

My fiance just called NVC for case number and he was told that they don’t even have our WAC number yet and it may take 6weeks to get our file...

Is this normal??

I already filled out the DS160 form and made an interview appointment on Oct 22.

how long will it take to get to US embassy in Japan??
