Thank so much @BJ & Christine I got the info but my question now is in a worst case situation, in the event that one couldn't book appointment before the noa2 expiration date what is the way out?

you just need updated later of intent to marry, you will be fine.

Hi all, it's a bit of a long one but would greatly appreciate any input/opinion that anyone has on this.

So London embassy requires a police certificate for every country you've lived in for more than 6 months since turning 16. I left China last year and obtained a police certificate. Here's what state website says for China and police certs:

Generally available, reliable. Persons should apply for a certificate of no criminal record at the local Public Security Bureau (PSB) (or certain types of employers such as state owned enterprises), then make application to the notary office for a certificate based on the PSB document. Persons without a criminal record will be able to obtain a certificate to that effect.

I do have a police certificate from the Chinese city's local PSB that I lived in, however, I DO NOT have it notarised at an office as it states above. When I got this certificate early last year when I left China for good, we were not thinking of the k1 at all, so it never occurred to us to get it notarised, and the police certificate itself was so hard to get in the first place... it would be next to impossible now to try get it notarised in China as its asking above. I've gotten it officially translated here in England.

I'm so worried this is going to cause problems at interview or if it's fine and it'll be enough...don't know if I'm overthinking it. :(

I would double check to make sure the police certificate is still valid. From what I understand, some embassy's want the certificate to be less than 6-12 months old.

Since u have done the processes in a timely matter they should extend the petition. The only thing I'm aware of is they may ask for new intent to marry from each of u

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do OLD SITE

https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ NEW SITE

https://www.house.gov/representatives US Congressmen

https://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm US Senators

IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

Thank you for your response! I'll update at the interview then.

I created a post on this but didn't get a single reply so let me ask you here if you don't mind, AND anyone else if welcomed to chime in. So you're familiar with how our attorney messed up on out petition (like just now with this biographic info). But she also messed up in the i-134. Like she put white out on some parts and filled in my financees income incorrectly. So we're pretty much fed up with them at this point.

So my question is, can we fill out the i-134 ourselves and ditch the one she filled out along with her form g-28? Bc my fiancee and I are more then capable of doing this ourselves. She just did it for us bc we had already paid for it as part of the contract we signed in the beginning of the petition.

Everyone else is doing their own so I don't know any reason why you can't do yours.

Can I recommend that you make a thread for DR people and then you all can help each other out. Seems to me to be a lot of questions from you folks about procedures for the DR Embassy. There has been others who have started a thread ie India has one going and it's working well. If you get stuck either PM me or ask in the general area.

Oh ok

First, they prefer that your case is interviewed within that four-month "window" indicated on the NOA2. If it is required, the NOA2 can be extended up to a year by your Embassy but with good reason and the Embassy doesn't need to extend the NOA2 for the "one" year from expiration. The new extension, if approved, will be for an additional 4 months. Extensions are in the form of 4-month extension with each approval till you reach one year. If you need to go beyond a year, then you must go to the end of the line and begin the process from I-129f over again and pay the fees. You must provide a reason for the NOA2 extension when requesting the extension from your Embassy.

Hi All,

I'm reviewing my DS-160 and I have a question I can't find the answer to. So in parents details, I have to enter their Given Names and Surnames.

Now the Given Name and Surname on my father's passport is as below:

Given Name - Raaj
Surname - Sewani

But on my passport and PCC it is as below:

Name of Father - Raaj Gobindram Sewani

Which one should I enter? Will this cause any issues at the VAC/OFC appointment or the interview?

Thank you for all the help in advance :)

I think in DR the certificate is only good for 30 days just like the acta de nacimiento expired in 30 days as well

has anyone got the hardcopy notification to the mail box from NVC that the case now is sent to the embassy?

it should be exactly the same way as NOA 2 comes to the mail

our lawyer told us to wait for that paper on the mail

It will be in the form of email(to either petitioner or beneficiary).. But mail form will be sent to the beneficiary together with P3.

His birth certificate has "Raaj Sewani" which is also on this passport. But won't they question like why doesn't it match with your passport and your PCC? Sorry, I'm just a little worried.
