September 2018 NOA2 ----> NVC

Does anyone here know what's the average wait times for NVC to process an embassy transfer? Luckily, while NVC still has my case, I was able to make the request and NVC accepted my request of transfer. However, the people who have similar "NVC received" dates got their petition in transit or received by embassy, which making me more impatient...lol. I understand that a transfer request will cause delays....but how long?

I've been getting conflicting information in my research so I wanted to ask in here.

My fiance has to undergo the sputum test and we're going to be delayed 2 months. Since the embassy already has our case, I don't need to extend our NOA2, correct? It reads that it's only valid until 12/30/2018.

I just have to ask you, who is going to have that answer for you. Someone from Germany, Netherlands, Great Britain or a group of people over in the sub-forum for the Philippines? Most of those countries do not have a TB problem like the Philippines so they have no knowledge of the TB protocol. These kinds of questions are best asked in the sub-forum for the Philippines located here.

But, here is your answer:

9 FAM 41.81 N6.2 Validity of a K-1 Petition

(CT:VISA-2165; 08-21-2014)

An approved K-1 visa petition is valid for a period of four months from the date of USCIS action and may be revalidated by the consular officer any number of times for additional periods of four months from the date of revalidation, provided the officer concludes that the petitioner and the beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after the beneficiary's admission into the United States. You'll need to make a request with USEM. In the past it's been done with SLEC and USEM but you want to be sure it's been adjusted if need be.

If you had to complete the culture test, keep close track of the visa validity date, as it is tied to the initial medical date, thus you will be short of the 6 months, you may only have 90 to 120 days before the visa expires.

Where is you case now? Where do you want it to go? When did you get the update that it's going to a different Embassy? Factors that will help in answering your question.

Currently, the case is still at NVC and under review. I called the NVC to get an update yesterday, but I was told it's still under review. Also, the NVC rep informed me that I should be getting a different case number once the review is complete, but didn't say when or how long it will take.

NVC received: September 27th 2018

Request of transfer: October 3rd, 2018

Place of transfer: from Abu dhabi to Manila.

You should see some activity coming up this week or at the latest early part of the following week as that is the week that new cases are leaving NVC for the embassies.

Here is some information that will help you process in the Philippines at USEM.

Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get done. To smooth that trail for you I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

Start by visiting Hanks site where he has taken the time and research, and of course, it helps if you spent 8 plus years helping folks in the Philippines sub-forum get their visas, where he has listed each step. With those steps, he includes the what, when and why to complete the item. Many have used the website and have had little or NO problems securing a visa from USEM.

http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

Next, you'll want to connect with those who are processing through the Philippines in the VJ Philippines sub-forum that way you will be with like-minded ppl who are sharing their experiences and also asking and answering questions. Since most in this thread is processing through another country they would be hard-pressed to explain what is needed for the Philippines.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

You'll find this on Hank's website but I will give it to you early and that is the Packet 3 Letter for USEM. It's found here:

https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

Here is the Packet 3 letter.

https://ph.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2016/08/K1-and-K2-Applicant-Interview-Preparation-Instructions-08112016-English-336KB.pdf

There you have it. Everything you need to get your visa. Good luck and smooth sailing.

Hello,

I have a query. Is there anywhere in the process that you are required to submit the original birth certificate/ English translation of the K1 Fiancé at the AOS stage or green card stage?

For the interview only the beneficiary is required to submit originals. Be sure to bring a copy for the CO and if you ask nicely I'm sure they'll give you the original back. AOS - copies for submitting with AOS and original at the interview.

Hi everyone. My fiancee said she passed her interview yesterday and today it changed from application received to administrative processing.  I assume this is normal?
