To the people who already filled out the DS-160 form:

"Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?"

Did you answer yes or no?

The K1 is a nonimmigrant visa, so technically it is no right?

Probably a very stupid question :D

Answer is no

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

No, just print DS-160 and your set.

There is more that they need for the interview besides just the DS-160, but yes the DS-160 is one of the documents needed.

Ay dios mio...

It's been months of waiting (I this is just the beginning).... and I get this beautiful message!! *See Attachment*

They don't even offer an appointment date next month, in 2 months or 3 months. Just "no appointments available". 🤯

I downloaded the AutoRefresh extension for Chrome and I'm just waiting to see what happens.

That was a very smart move to use the extension. Years ago, there was a Typhoon that went through the Philippines and there was a lot of damage and loss of life. The Embassy was fast tracking Filipino's who were affected by this crisis and those who contacted the Embassy were fast tracked before others in other parts of the country. The schedule as packed and no openings for the rest and so someone came up with a little program that would do the same thing as your extension. It was they only way they could get appointments because the had to wait for a cancellation. So my hat is off you your ingenuity

Ok so I’ve read a lot on the internet and VJ but I wanted to ask people’s thoughts on health insurance. I know that once I marry my fiancé I can go on his health insurance, that is not the problem. I wanted to know what people are doing for that time in between landing and getting married?

I know some have taken out travel/medical insurance for that time, but I would have thought that wouldn’t be the correct avenue, after all it won’t be a vacation.

Just curious on what you folks are doing?

Check out https://www.ehealthinsurance.com/  to find some names of short term plans.   Then you can go direct to their websites.

Underwritten short-term health plans with have pre-existing exclusions and cost high deductibles  and are not ACA QHP BUT, they will at least be regulated and real.

As I said before, I always felt safe on those IMG Patriot travel plans linked up through a US PPO but there are a lot of stories of issues.

FYI  As soon as you get married, even if she has no social,  she can apply on the Federal Healthcare.gov  for coverage on marketplace (unsubsidized) as a 60-day Special Enrollment Period  She would refuse any subsidy and pay full price for her plan so that she can say  no on the I-485 benefit question at interview !!!!   The I-797C for the I-485 is sufficient to show Adjustment to LPR status for qualification.

Although the social is not technically required for private group insurance plans,  they do seem to ask for them and whine about the reasons they need them.  Reality is they have no federal authority to demand a social, but good luck explaining that.

P.S.   States with private exchange sites all have different rules.   CA for instance only allows AOS to apply with approved immigration petition which effectively excludes Concurrent Filers.  The federal one just states  Applicants for Adjustment of Status to Lawful Permanent Residence.

Hope this helps.

One of the requirements for supporting evidence is proof of US citizenship of my fiancé! Will a copy of his birth certificate suffice or it has to be original? Or a copy of passport? His birth certificate says "do not accept if watermark is not visible"

i know that for the beneficiary it has to be original. I have that but I don't have  his original birth certificate!

my visa was issued last October 25 and my k2 October 31. We haven't received both of our visa. Is this normal? Does visa processing with K2 takes longer? :(

Thank you for your response @Greenbaum. Tried to complete my profile im not sure if i have done it right lol im just using my phone. We applied at US Embassy Manila and I’m worried because others who had their interview at the same day and later already have their visa. Tried everything to track our passport everyday and there is no delivery status showing. Does US embassy manila ship passports everyday?

Hi @Greenbaum please help!

Basically i am having my interview for k1 soon in Warsaw. I am not quite sure how much proof of relationship do we have to bring with us?

Are they going to have the proof of relationship that my fiancé has provided with the petition ?  Can I just bring the proof of relationship after the petition was made, or do I have to bring the proof of all the relationship?

Thank you in advance,

Veronica

They want proof of a continuing relationship. They will have your I-129f packet and the evidence provided there. They want to see that the relationship has continued past your in person meeting shown in the I-129f.

@dkmfan85 gave a good explanation and all I can add is that you should put together about 12 pictures of your last meeting with each other, a few chat pages and if you talk on the phone any evidence of that fact will help. Not much more needed. Just be sure you know as much as you can. Having the I-129f to review would help but I am not speaking the whole package just the form. He can email it to you.
