NOA2 date September 11th.

I called into NVC today and was given the case number along with an invoice ID number.  I was told that the packet 3 hasn't been shipped out yet as the case number was just assigned today.  The rep said I will be receiving an email once they send packet 3 out to the embassy.

Greenbaum Tip: Once you receive your NOA2 approval then contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to update your email address as well as your beneficiary's email address. This will give you an email alert when your file arrives at NVC, your case is assigned and when the file leaves for your Embassy.

Now my question is when they ask about APPLICATION RECEIPT/ PETITION NUMBER.

It says Your application receipt/petition number was given to you by the Department of Homeland Security’s United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) after you filed your petition application at a USCIS Service Center. The application receipt/petition number is 13 characters long and the first three characters are letters.

This seems to be the WAC number and not the NVC receipt number, right?

USCIS is WAC and NVC is Case #.

Hello everyone!!!

I have not had the time to read everything but wanted to re-confirm a few things.

We got approved 26/9/2018

A simple "yes" or "no" is fine.

1. Can the DS-160 form be filed already? I think this is a yes

2. Can I call for my case number 10 days after NOA approval? I think this is a yes

3. Once I fill out the online DS-160 form, do I need the case number to schedule a medical exam?

4. Do I need the hard copy NOA2 to schedule the interview

5. Does the petitioner send the support documents to NVC or does petitioner sends those docs to the beneficiary for the beneficiary to take for interview at to local country embassy?

6. Does the petitioner need to fill out the I-134 and send before scheduling the interview?

7. Do I need to pay for the DS-160 before scheduling the interview?

I do understsnd that all docs need to be on hand for interview. I just want to know if the interview can be scheduled before getting them all tangibly.

We suggest not calling for 10 business days from NOA2. You would have had to sign up for email notification. It's advisable to contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to update your email address as well as your beneficiary's email address.

I want to start my message with thank you for your help! It helps a lot! 🤗

Does it make sense to update emails using this link if we've sent an email to NVC (subject WAC# and then body petitioner's full name birthday / beneficiary's fun name birthdate, email addresses of both of us)?

If yes, should we submit two inquiries (one for petitioner's email and another one for beneficiary's email)? 😅

But if we submit 2 forms then will the NVC not use the 2nd one automatically as it's the latest?

Which form you use does not make a difference. Use whichever you want as both ways work. I would not use both at the same time because there is no need to. The one that I would recommend is the online form as I think it's uploaded straight into the data base and the other his hand entered from the email. JMO.

May I ask why are you asking this question? Based on your answer I may have some additional information but since I don't have your intentions I will wait till you answer my question before I render any help other than the list. I could save you a lot of money and time.

@Greenbaum  No, what I meant to ask was if I use the online form 2 different times - 1st time to update petitioner's email and 2nd time to update my email address, then how will both email addresses be updated ?

In this case won;t their database automatically use the latest email address updated?
