Right, as others have said. It totally depends on the office you are with. We are in Texas, which is at the top of the worst offices to have to work with in terms of wait time. But My in-laws, who are in North Carolina, we’re done with the entire process from initial filing to holding the green card in less than 9 months.

I'm confused on why everyone is having to wait so long for their interview date to be scheduled. I thought that part was the quickest for everybody.

My status' went from fingerprints completed to interview ready to be scheduled (from june to december) then i got a letter with the interview date on within a week or two..

It depends. Our case was the opposite. We went from Fingerprints completed to Interview Ready to be Scheduled within just 5 days. I had high hopes the remainder of the process would move quickly because we were shown as "ready to be scheduled" less than a month after the wedding. Then we waited 8 months to get an interview date and we will go for the interview next week. Ours isn't so bad in comparison to many other offices. I've heard many wait a year or two, so we are thankful.

UPDATE

Well, just checking in once again for future readers. Another month is coming to an end and still no interview scheduled. 8 months now we have been waiting for the interview to be scheduled, 13 since we started the whole green card process.

This is in Texas, I realize it varies with location and some places seem to be much faster than others, but for all you future readers out there, this is how long it’s been for us so far. I’ll check in again later, hopefully with good news next time!

It varies by field office, not state (many states have more than one field office). By VJ averages, Dallas and Houston are two of the slowest field offices in the country (over 400 days from NOA1 to interview). San Antonio is pretty normal (about 240 days from NOA1 to interview). El Paso and Harlingen are actually pretty fast, though that might be small sample size effects. Happens in lots of states; here in CA, the LA area offices are much slower than San Diego.

Well 400 days gives me hope, that is only a couple weeks away for us, a hopefully that turns out to be how it is for us!

Sorry to be a downer, but the actual VJ average for Dallas is 440 days, and Houston 490. Still, that's not much longer relatively speaking.

We did a K1, never had a single interview after the initial K1 interview in her home country.  , Just did finger prints/Biometrics and filled out paperwork for both greencards.

She has her 10 year Greencard which took forever and a day

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.
