Well, it's something.

The RFE requested three types of evidence in the RFE:

a) Proof of US Citizenship

This was provided via my US Passport which has 8 years remaining.

B) Proof of having met within the previous two years

This was provided via passport pages, Turkey visa, hotel receipts, and airline receipts.

c) 2"x2" photo of petitioner and beneficiary

This was the problem area. MS mailed 1.25"x1.25" passport photos (despite explicit instructions).

He doesn't quite get it that we have to provide precisely what is requested. I had him to take a second round of passport photos to comply with the specifications. He did, but they were still small. His perspective is: "It's close enough." :girlwerewolf2xn:

I'll see MS in three weeks (yea!!) and we'll get this sorted when I'm there. Onward and upward.

Good attitute! I'm sure you'll get the RFE requirements sorted out, and your petition will be approved quickly thereafter. :)

Now I'm starting to worry myself....A and C are what they could RFE me for also! (Well they could issue one for B also, totally up to the adjudicatiors discretion...even though I also provided passport stamps, receipts, boarding passes and photos.)

For A, I used my US passport, though mine was issued to me 8 years ago....only has 2 years validity left. I was naturalized through my parents and I do not have a certificate of my own. (Well I apparently did at some point...but with so many moves in my life....its gone missing. So as per instructions, I used my passport.)

For C, my SO's photos were also the smaller size ones,....that is what he sent me, and from reading here I took the gamble. (Some were applications were approved w/ the smaller photos, some were issued RFE's).

It is soooo the luck of the draw...but the more time passes w/out any sign of action the more introspective I get regarding the petition. I keep going through it to see what I missed, and what I could have sent in but didn't, or what I could have sent differently. I'm driving myself crazy!!!:help: (Close to the 90 day mark since mailing this freaking petition in, and no word. :(:crying: )

We have the smaller pictures too, we also have the letter of intent to worry about. It appears my SO wrote this very lovely love letter about me and him and how deep his love is..LOL..I think neither of us thought to write, we intend to marry within 90 days of bla bla bla...NOOo my SO wrote we have gotten so close, and this is the only woman and love love love. LOL....ahh well, how can you be upset over a letter like that, RFE be damned! That letter is one for my scrapebook. Or as Klaus says, I will keep this and in 40 years when you are grumpy I will pull it out and say Waaait YOU love me remember???

LOL well we all do our best, cross our fingers, but truly that is where it must end. Too many people make themselves ill over this, and it really does not influence the outcome.

Good Luck to all.

P,

The RFE includes a personalized cover letter and a form attached to it. They asked for all three types of evidence, but really just need one based on the submittal. It seems to me that whoever receives an RFE is required to provide all three regardless. Like someone else said, just copy what was sent the first time and correct the passport photo problem.

Thanks to you and others for helping keep things in perspective! Initially, I was really disappointed ... as this could have been/should have been the NOA2. But in the scheme of things, adjusting the size of MS's passport photo and resubmitting the requested docs is an easy remedy.

Concerning the visa photo -- I had her go to a photo shop in her city to get the visa photo but had them make it into a large jpg file that she sent me. I took it to a photo shop at my home that makes passport and visa photos and had them print it, to make sure it was exactly regulation size and center. That way, I tried to short-circuit all of the Russian "its close enough" issues that might not be quite adequate.

Now, I don't have my NOA2s yet, so I don't know for 100% that it worked ...

I'm confused as to how you know that they just need once based on the submittal. Did they signify that providing the other two are optional? Perhaps you need to submit more evidence of those two?
