From K1 up to now, My I-1751 ROC is still on the process, received my NOA already stating that my expired GC is been extended for 18months and allowed to work and travel abroad. Facts, Id read some citizen's experienced that some airlines doesn't accept an expired GC as part of docs requirements before boarding. This is what Im scared of Im planning to go back PI but am scared that I cant go back here in US. DO i need to get some I-1551 stamp before buyinh tickets or vice versa. Need you help on this and please give me more ideas and knowledge about this matter I-1551 stamp. Thanks you so much. Godbless

As long as you have a valid stamp or a valid extension letter w expired gc you can travel. They are both legal documents showing your legal presence in the US. If you have a valid extension letter no stamp is needed.

also- update your timeline it will help us help you better 🙂🙃

Oh okay, you will not need a stamp because your extension letter and expired gc are your proof.

Here is a handy carrier guide for traveling to the US.  It shows all the valid documents that will allow for entry into the US and the EL with the expired GC is valid documentation.  If the airline gives you issues at check-in, show them this.  As to the stamp, in general, USCIS will not issue one unless you are about a month from the expiration of the EL.  If you will be gone past the expiration of the EL and are leaving more than 30 days prior to the expiration, then USCIS will most likely also give you the stamp.

Goos Luck!
