Approved application, but no oath letter or document

Hi all,

End of April I had naturalization interview. It went well, but they gave me the N652 with two checked boxes. One, you passed the test of English and US history and government and another one- a decision cannot yet be made about your application. 

Upon asking they said that they don't have my file yet, but I should not worry. I will hear back from them within 2 weeks.

 

Finally just few days before 120 days time frame, when I checked my account, I found that "We approved your application. Your final step to becoming a citizen is to attend your naturalization ceremony" under my case status. I did not find any documents attached though. Also, I did not get any email updates. Normally I get notified about updates. Is it normal?

Did you just receive approval today or yesterday? If so, it usually takes a day or two before the ceremony document to show up in your online profile.

Our PDF showed up in the portal two days after the status changed, letter arrived six days later.  This was July 2018.

Thank you all for your prompt reply. Status changed on last 23rd august. I did not see any document.  what should i do? last document was interview notice.

If it just says “we approved your application” as the status, that does not mean your oath ceremony was scheduled yet. It will say “we scheduled your naturalization ceremony” once they have scheduled it and sent out the letter.

Nope. Only document that would have said that is the N652 form you got at your interview had they approved it on the spot. They’re not going to mail out another saying that you were approved. The only other document you’re going to get now is your oath letter.

Thank you so much. Since i  get "Passed the test, decision cannot yet be made about your application" on my N652, I was thinking that they are going to send me approval document.

 

Now it make sense. In the status they said "we will mail you a letter when we schedule your naturalization ceremony".
