I called NVC again today, they don't have my case yet. :( The lady I spoke w/ was actually very nice, she asked me when my approval date was. When I told her "last thursday, the 17th" she said "That's cute...that it had only been a week and I was calling." I told her that after the long USCIS wait, I was anxious. She said she understood, and suggested I try back next week, because it takes about 2 weeks for the case to reach them. She did say that K-1 petitions do not stay w/ NVC very long, before they are forwarded on to the embassy.

So nothing left to do, but wait out the long weekend.

Still no hard copy NOA2, or change in status online. What is going on? All these people approved yet many are not approvals online, or the paper NOA2's.

I do not know, Paula.

I am trying hard to get answers for those of us in this foggy haze! We need those hard copies. If you find out, please post.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

If you go read the guides there is a general timeline, notice the little guy at the top of everything with the sign that says Please read the GUIDES?????

The timeline that says 1 month between sending the information and issuing the intervew, when most timelines I have seen on the site have a couple months before the interview? The guide has very little information about the process once it leaves the US and gets to the embassy, and the timeline has little specific information, just basically says the "embassy will send information and forms to fill out."

Going to police to request a report only takes a day, may take longer to get the report.

Not if the police reports are from two separate foreign countries and may or may not be considered "unobtainable."

The medical interview will take up another day, and she can go at her leisure. I do not see a problem, and you should not either.

Not when the medical interview is halfway across the country...

Also if she has things more pressing to get to you as quickly as possible, what's up with that?

An examination vital to her employment when she arrives here, that also will take place halfway across the country, that also must be booked months in advance...if the exam doesn't get done, her career gets delayed an entire year; and since my career needs to be planned to accommodate hers location-wise...we've got things to coordinate. We've got more things brewing than just waiting for the visa for her to immediately come to the US.

Seriously, things always seemed friendly on this forum, where did that salty response come from???

I apologize.......my girl lives in the capital city so for her it is easier. I was insensitive to your plight. I would have her make sacrifices there to get done what she needs for her future. I am guessing she is a doctor or nurse of some sort. again I apologize I forget not everyone is living in a capital city like my fiancee. You have made sacrifices, if it is family functions remind her she has to make sacrifices also. The situation we are all in is not perfect, we try to make it work to the best of our ability. If her engagements are something she can not break away from then you have to accept that, love her, and wait longer. I think they will take the police reports from the current country unless you listed both countries on a form. If that is the case she can probably obtain them by email or phone. I would look into that.

Sorry,

Nathan

It's all good...

The timing of things is interesting, basically we are aiming for her to come here in October, so we have a few months to play with. If things go quickly at the embassy, and she gets an mid July date that won't work, can she request a later date? You'd think a later date would be an odd request, but an easily fulfilled request. Hopefully she gets packet 3 soon and we can figure things out.

We got our NOA2 hard copy today :)

There is absolutely no hyme or reason to this madness! There's another thread I was just reading, and people who received NOA2's in early May still do not have their paper copies, yet for most their petition is already at the respective consulate (some have even received packet 3).

I've even seen that some are getting the e-mail notification that their case was approved, after those of us that were approved during the middle of May....just unbelievable!

I wish we could find out how these darn things are processed, and how is it that some mail is being sent out and some not. At this point I have to say its not the US mail that is inefficient...an envelope is pretty much delivered in about 4-5 days anywhere in the continental US, once it is actually mailed....so the problem definitely lies w/ CSC. The H-1B visa backlog excuse is no longer making sense to me. <_<

I will post when and if I get the paper NOA2. We definitely need those things for AOS, so I hope all of us that are waiting will get them soon! :)

Is your K1 being processed through the consulate in Chennai? I believe their procedure is indeed somewhat different than the others in that there is no separate Packet 3 and Packet 4. When the consulate mails out your Packet 3, it is also a Packet 4 in that you are notified of your interview date in that first mailing. (Or something like that....)

Here's the link to the procedures at the Chennai consulate. It was updated 4/30/07, so its recent.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...amp;cty=Chennai

There is a member on VJ, I believe "ELW" who can assist you. Her fiancee recently processed through Chennai. If you haven't contacted her, perhaps you can do that and she may be able to offer you more accurate information pertaining to that consulate....even perhaps offer advice on how to re-schedule an interview if necessary. :)

Good luck!

I called USCIfriggingoodfornothingS yesterday and the lame I talked to said if I do not get the hard copy NOA-2 in 30 days, I am to call back and there is a possibility I will have to pay for them to issue me one !!!!!!!! In one thread I read someone was told they wanted 200 bucks for that NOA-2. Im outraged because we already paid for this with the 170.00 cheque. I would settle for an E Mail at this point.

P S ...after calling NVC and telling them what CSC did to a few of us, I was given this # 1 202 5144316. The woman at NVC said do not bother with the 1 800 # at USCIS, that this # is HEADQUARTERS. Well, I tried, but all I got was rings, but no one answering the phone. Maybe someone can make headway.

Yes, but I believe this is just because they forgot to generate my NOA2 until 2 weeks after it was already approved and forwarded. I think it took my phone calls and inquiries to get them to notice and actually generate the NOA2.

It looks like from your timeline that your NOA2 came at the actual time of approval. My NOA2 may have been 5/18, but the actual approval was 5/4 and I presume it was forwarded to NVC at that time.
