My fiance is here visiting and we just found out this AM that Frankfurt sent out the Packet 3 so when she returns it will be waiting for her.

So now we are going over and filling out the DS 156, 156k, 157, and the DS 230 together.

My question is specific to the question on work history on the DS157 #12 asking "Not Including Current Employer, List Your Last Two Employers".

My fiance's has been at her current job for about 7 years. Prior to this job and as a student she had a few "student" jobs ranging in 1 day to 1 year. She seems to thinks that these jobs don't really count for a document like this. She says that there were no taxes payed and that while they weren't under-the-table jobs there was no paperwork filed specific to her name but just saying something like so many students employed here. This is completely new to me and I don't really understand it but I was hoping that maybe someone who is from Germany and in this process might be able to shed some light on this for us.

Oh and BTW, she cannot remember exacts for the two previous jobs. Her last one as a student was at some copy shop and she doesn't remember dates. She said there may have been a short job after this but she is not sure. As for the one prior she can't remember which it was, when... ect.

Also, what do you guys think about typing in as much as possible on the PDFs found at the USCIS website and then hand writing in the items that won't fit. I am not talking about larger many line items where one might add a page for but single line items like addresses.

Thanks all

In Germany, an employe(e) is registered with social security depending on the monthly income. There are the so-called "Geringfuegig Beschaeftigte" which usually applies to part-time workers with less than a certain income per month (I don't recall how much that is now, it was changed a little while ago, 325 or 400 EUR?) and in that case the employer does not need any documentation for you with social security.

If she was a student at the time of these employments, I guess I wouldn't list the jobs at all, only her current employment. She does have to list her education on this form, too, right? So from the time frames given there it should be pretty obvious that she was a student until she started her current job.

I also had some jobs here and there during my university education, but I did not list these jobs anywhere. Hope this is helpful at all...

Good luck to you!
