Trump rage-tweets Google alleging search ‘bias

In his rage tweets, Trump makes the specific allegation that “96% of results on “Trump News” are from National Left-Wing Media”, without citing his source for the claimed datapoint. He then makes the further unsubstantiated claim that: “Google & others are suppressing voices of Conservatives and hiding information and news that is good.”

The Guardian suggests the 96% claim is a reference to an article posted at the weekend by the website PJ Media whose self-described “not-scientific” study of the top 100 Google News results for the search term “Trump” apparently suggested “a pattern of bias against right-leaning content”.

Trump ends the pair of tweets with a warning that the “situation will be addressed” — without specifying exactly what he plans to do. Which is pretty much trademark Trump Twitter  policy-on-the-hoofing. Even as the wider political context around his administration, with whispers of impeachment in the air, implies that any loud public complaints by Trump about negative headlines related to himself are an attempt to distract attention from the legal hot waters now boiling around him. But whatevs.

I know this is just a personal observation but recently whenever I search google for anything even mildly political almost all of the search results on the first few pages are left leaning websites. Even when you search the name of someone who the left dislikes the results are all left wing smear articles and the person's own website doesn't even appear in the results. This is something I haven't noticed in the past.

Because i actually have a Pixel that streams various news articles based on my Google searches on phone and desktop. 

 

When the subject of Donald trump comes up...I've gotten articles from the extreme right , extreme left ,and everything in the middle.  

 

Conservatives(and especially Trump fans) need to stop crying about this scumbag leader. Hes portrayed negatively in the news because he was and still is a negative candidate, who ran on a purely negative platform. 

 

I guess you could say karma.. or as the christians put it  "you reap what you sow".

I use a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and live in Ireland (just for 3 more weeks) and for some reason it pumps out CNN for news articles. Never chose it dont know how to set it but it seems to like CNN. I dont believe I have ever seen any positive news story about Trump from CNN pop up on the phone. 

 

I think my phone has a bad case of bias. 

 

Despite being adivised here on the forum to vary my news sources I have found that the left makes it very easy to be conservative. I constantly disagree with my family here in Ireland because they are fed the same one sided media.

Your phone probably pumps CNN because you never told it to stop pumping CNN. Just like how my phone was pumping Infowars , and some other white nationalist bias sites .so I had to tell it to stop. 

 

I'm ok with fox..I just can't stand to read conservative fringe outlets who have been proven to be low information sources.

i have an s6 and my google feed wants to show me nothing but fox. at first i was trying to tell it not to show me 'more like this' but i got tired of constantly marking the articles. i just stopped checking that feed altogether.
