ok, i was never discussing where to get free stuff.. nice chatting with you.

But you are trying to make the point that the average american worker can't survive.

I am making the point they can.

I will concede that perhaps they can't survive to what they have been led to believe is the level of basic necessities.

Humans just need food, clothing, and shelter..anything else is just fluff.

Here in the USA the three items above can be had for little to nothing.

So it's not basic necessities the article is opining..it's what many people in the world would consider luxuries.

So I am just pointing out all the hand-wringing and woe is me the that is being put out to counter the present economic climate here is a bunch of malarkey.

My husband and I are lucky enough to each own a house before marriage... but where is the discussion if you have a child and decide to continue to work.

We are trying to figure out where we are eventually going to squeeze an additional $2,000 (ish) a month for day care costs into the budget, so we can both continue to work..

That is why we have been waiting until my youngest(19 months) gets alittle older before my wife will go back to school for nursing. We are happy that our 5 year old finally starts kindergarten this year and we don't have to pay for pre-k which we had to do in both CA and NC.

We were looking into buying our next house and moving but then realized daycare costs will easy make up the difference in what we would expect to pay in the new house we would want

So until any future kid goes to Kindergarten, our city row home will work. Haha. Or my husband just gets an awesome promotion but that is plan B. Hahaha. I work for a Non Profit, so I know it won't be a hefty raise on my part. Haha

Yeah daycare costs are no joke at all and one of the big reasons why a parent will stay home to take care of a child until school. I am lucky enough to where I make enough from my job and the VA for my wife to stay at home but the cost for my 5 year old's pre-k last year was a new car payment which stretched us but we made it work. Now we will be doing better because we will have that money to pay down whatever.

I  know we are fortune because we could live on one income as well (either his or mine) but both of us love our careers (our choice and our sacrifice) and we will make it work, just like everyone else. My family isn't nearby or healthy enough to take care of any grandchildren, his parents are in great health but another country. Costs of daycare sure make you respect having a grandma/grandpa nearby.. haha. So the next house will wait for a couple more years.

I was homeless at a point in my life..worked many a minimum wage job.  But I put myself through college..got a couple of degrees..and am doing pretty well.  So I guess I don't understand how someone not improving his/her self and their environment is somehow someone else's fault but their own.  Victims will always be.

I'd say Trump knows a little about economics..

And "vice"..

I've been homeless too.  At some point you need help to be able to become not homeless.  Lots of people have been homeless or had to rely on food banks temporarily.  Most of those people make it out the other end. But not everyone goes and gets degrees when they can barely afford to live.

Btw when I consider shelter I think you need electricity and/or gas and water.  In North America we dont have a village well to carry water in so we can wash or drink water.  We also need a method to cook food and keep it cold. Unless all you're eating bread, peanut butter, and fruit.

Now I've worked at a gym and had a homeless man with a membership that was merely for taking showers.  It was cheaper for him to live in his car and spend $30 a month on a gym membership while working at his new job at a restaurant than to live in an apt.  I applauded his tenacity and perseverance.  He was a role model imho for how to get yourself out of a slump.

I'll ignore the snark and answer anyway

I didnt say live on welfare I was showing ways people could get help while improving their status

I lived in areas where welfare was the family business, I do not support that but do support helping people when they are down, social welfare programs are meant to be a safety net, not a way of life

Don't assume people don't read what they respond to, disagree with my conclusions I could not care less but don't make assumptions about things you cannot support, it come across as arrogant and dismissive

my assumption is based on the responses that i've received, which have little to nothing to do with the article i posted - including your list of available welfare/charity.

Fine I will name you Czar of reading comprehension, feel free to twist any and all comments into tiny little balls of feces for your own pleasure, your inability to accept anything other than your own opinions is telling, but I doubt you can grasp that, yes now I am making assumptions towards you but who cares right?

I won't comment on anything you have to say in the future, as you assume I am incapable of reading an article you post or if I do drawing the same myopic view that you do. I thought before we were on opposite sides of issues, I have come to the realization that you choose to be offensive and condescending, enjoy playing, I am out
