Background checks in I-571

I am wondering what kind of background checks are done for those applying for the ROC. I know biometrics are used for those.

The n400 requires both the fingerprint check AND a name check, which is apparently what is holding up so many applications. Does that go for the ROC as well ? Are name checkings part of the process ?

That might be part of the big delays many experience, if that is the case.

Highly unlikely anyone could offer a precise response. Background checks is usually a multi-Agency process.

Hi,

Yes name checking is part of process. Security check is done by several agencies including FBI. It could take from 1 month to several years. Mine is pending since Jan-2017 and security check is not completed yet. No one in the entire world can give you information when your security check will be completed. You just wait until it is completed. They won't even let you know if it is completed but if you inquire and it is pending, USCIS will mention that it is pending and they can't adjudicate until security check is not completed.
