hey everyone!!!

I checked the status online at the USCIS website and this is what it said:

"On March 3, 2006, this approved or re-affirmed case was shipped to the Department of State for visa processing. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Department of State."

does anyone know how long will it take for the packet to be delivered via snail mail? (I live in Toronto, Canada, the US embassy is located in Montreal)

peace and good luck to all of you

Goes to NVC for background checks...takes about a week or so, then onto the embassy where you are. You then get a new case number and they send you packet 3! (about 3-5 weeks)

It might be at either place right now.

You can call the NVC 603-334-0700, you will have to speak to an operator, I think you push 1 then 2 (K1 cannot check via the automated system) or call Montreal http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...da&cty=Montreal

and, Congratulations!

automated system

do u suggest to talk to a live operator even though the system says that the case is not on file there?

K1's are not available through the automated system, you will have to speak to someone, they will be able to tell you where your file is :)

CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so my questions are:

1. how do I know that the case is in Nebraska Processing Centre or is it already @ National Visa Center?

2. is the Department of State the same thing as National Visa Center?

3. assuming that NVC = Department of State, therefore - how would I know when it left the NVC and the embassy got it?????? Is there any way to track this????

thx for all the answers!

There is no way of tracking your file online or on the NVC automated system once it has been approved at service center and then forwarded to NVC. You can call the automated number and follow the prompts to speak to a live operator to find out if your case is there or if and when it has been transferred to the consulate.

You can find me on FBI
