Visa rejected 221g

So, my fiance's visa was denied at the Seoul embassy. The interviewer said that her medical records hadn't been properly sealed (Stupid hospital) and she needed our chat logs from Whatsapp. I looked up similar topics on here and the difference with ours seems to be that her letter doesn't contain anything about the petition being sent back to the USCIS. Rather, it has a checklist of the further proof needed and instructions about how they can be sent. Does this mean that we have a chance of getting this resolved quickly? I believe the issue may have been that I have never formally proposed and when they asked her about how I did so, she said I didn't but that we were planning on getting married and raising a family. If it helps, the messages from Whatsapp include some where we talk about having children. I'm worried though, because most of the posts I see here say that this whole process will take a very long time. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Okay, the soonest she can get them in is Wednesday morning. The other option is by post, but given it is already Monday evening there, I assume post would be about the same or later.

This seems pretty clear, they are asking for more evidence, so it is in the two of your's best interest to gather and submit that ASAP.  As to how fast it goes after that, who knows.

But it's not an outright rejection that will be returned to USCIS? Sorry if I'm asking obvious questions, but this whole thing is very stressful.

It is not a outright rejection because they are asking for additional information. Try to get it to them as soon as possible so the can continue working on your case.

At this point, no, not an outright rejection.  If you fail to submit the requested evidence then it will turn into a rejection.

Is it at all possible that submitting this proof will result in approval that day?

Maybe. Most likely a week, at least, I'd imagine.

My then fiances interview(which I joined her at) in Seoul ended up with a 221g also for the medical documents because she scheduled her medical 2 days before the interview. So when her medical papers came in the mail, she sent them with her passport through the expedite service. She got her passport back between 1 and 1 And a half weeks. Are they making you get a new sealed medical set to the embassy or are they accepting it?

I believe they're making her get a new one, but she said she already talked with the hospital and it was okay to get a new one. She had gotten it almost a month ago and I guess she was told by the embassy that it was sealed wrong.

Good deal. I believe you are on your way and should be fine. Good luck!

A 221g is a refusal, but if often called a "soft" refusal. If it is due to missing documents, then it can often be overcome by providing those documents.

A visa refusal is not the same as a refusal due to an invalid petition (i.e. not a bona fide relationship, already being married, IMBRA issues, etc.).
