Hi there,

We are all ready to submit the I-130 Petition, which is very exciting.  We both reside in Canada and will be filing the petition in Chicago.  My husband (the sponsor) has an opportunity to change employers in the near future that we would like to take advantage of, as long as it doesn't mess with the processing of our paperwork.  Is changing jobs an ok thing to do?  Do we have to notify them of this change?  I am hoping someone has some experience with this!

Thanks,
Kelsey

Is the change of employer to a US based one?

Then it doesnt matter.  He can take it if he chooses. It wont help your eventual domicile or sponsorship issues.

No, it is not a job in the US.  It's just to a different, higher paying job in the same city.

This will have no impact whatsoever.
