Hi community,

Please advise how do we suppose to marry in Florida state. Should we apply online to a courthouse how is it working?

After marriage...what is the procedure to apply for adjustment of status, work permit, and travel authorization?

Thanks in advance.

Go to the nearest Clerk of the Circuit Court and apply for a marriage license.  For residents of Florida there is a waiting period of 3 days before your marriage license is valid, if the petitioner is not a resident of Florida there is no waiting period and can get married the same day you receive your marriage license.

For procedures follow the guides for AOShttp://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

To get married you need a marriage license, once you and your significant other apply for and receive your marriage license anyone that has credential can officiate and perform the marriage ceremony, if you don't know where to or how to find someone that can do it you can just get married by clerks office.

1. You apply for marriage license at the courthouse.

2. You get married by official authorized in FL to fill and sign your license marriage (wedding official, clerk... google who is around your area).

3. You return your filled and signed license marriage to the courthouse and they give you marriage certificate - boom - officially married and registered in the FL state (suggest to ask for 2-3 extra certified copies of your marriage certificate, one will be needed for AOS etc).

It was very different from the procedure in my country but not too hard to figure out ;) I knew more than my USC spouse.
