for the consulate in Morroco, 2 visits is not enough. not enough for a K1 not enough for a CR1.

it is a high fraud country that is VERY difficult to get approved from. she may be busy at work, but if she wants to spend the proverbial forever (or until one of you gets sick of the other type of forever), she needs to invest more time there with you before filing for ANY visa.

We married on my third visit and then filed. During the USCIS wait, we had three subsequent visits (the last one being an entire summer). My 7th visit will be for our 1 year wedding anniversary in October and the 8th will be the interview. So, before and/or after you get married, try to visit as much as possible. I'm reading that lots of face time helps your case regardless of which country you are from. You also correctly pointed out that the wait is really difficult.

My wife and I have a theory. If a couple breaks up through the visa process then it would have eventually ended for some other reason down the road anyway. As difficult as this whole thing has been, it has strengthened our marriage by giving us a greater appreciation for one another.

thanks C&AH, we really appreciate your advice.

As you said , the CR1 is worth it in the long term even if it takes a longer time but eventually it's really the best choice.

You're very welcome. As pointed out, it really doesn't take a great deal longer. Moreover, if you factor in the adjustment period, then the K1 ends up taking longer and costing more.

Have a backup of all your text conversations on email and social media.  Also backup photos of everytime you spend time together.

Timeline

I just want to add my knowledge.... My best girlfriend started speaking with her Moroccan boyfriend (now husband) in November of 2014. She went to meet him in July 2015 and stayed 3 weeks with him and his family. She is older than him by 7 years (She was 32 at that time and he was 25). They spoke for another 8 months chatting and then filed for K-1 in March 2016. They went into AP for a couple months after interview but he was approved and came here very early January 2017. They got married and already have a baby together.

Just saying :)

and it takes about a month in Morocco to do the process for an American to marry there

yeah we defiitely have to work on that...even less than a month it depends if you know people

When the marriage process in a country (i.e. Morocco, Philippines, etc.) is cumbersome, marriage in a visa-free country (i.e. Hong Kong, Macao, etc.) is an alternate option, https://www.passportindex.org/comparebyPassport.php?p1=us&p2=ma&fl=&s=yes
