So why ask for advice if you’re not going to take it anyway?

 

You will need to get new ones. Simple as that. Not the embassy's fault your father can’t follow simple instructions that say “do not send originals to the NVC, only copies”.

Actually, YOU don't get it.......the instructions have to be followed......period........either get original documents before the interview or be refused at the interview...it is your choice.....and your father's big mistakes.....

1.  He should have made copies of all original documents.

2.  He should have sent the copies to NVC.

3.  He should have sent you the original documents.

They WILL ask for the original documents at the interview....and they WILL refuse your visa if you don't have them

Why should they? He wasn’t suppoeed to send them there in the first place.

Your father needs to hire an attorney or someone who can understand the process and instructions..

The DS-260 is electronic. You would have completed it online and submitted it. Or are you saying your father did that for you also? 

 

Have you read the interview letter? It doesn’t ask for the DS-260 because it’s an electronic form.

OK, I hope he completed the part about being the preparer. Given his failure to follow simple instructions so far, I’m doubtful.

"Step 3: Gather Documents Required for the Interview

 

Every visa applicant no matter their age must bring certain documents to the interview, including photographs, the original version of all civil documents submitted to NVC, copies of those documents, and financial documents from the petitioner and any other financial sponsors.  Please review Items Your Must Bring to Your Visa Interview. You must bring the documents on this list even if you submitted a photocopy of them to NVC. 

What happens if you forget to bring something on this list?  The consular officer will not be able to complete the processing of your visa. You will have to gather the missing items and provide them to the embassy, and may have to come for additional interviews. Failure to bring all items on the above list can delay visa issuance."
