I just called NVC and found out our case arrived there yesterday, and I was given our case number. I notice on most timelines that there are dates for when it was forwarded to the embassy. I knew how to check the status up until receiving the NOA 2, but where are you all getting the information from the time it arrives at NVC? thanks

our timeline

01/03/06 - mailed I-129F application to NSC

01/16/06 - received NOA1 via snail mail

03/07/06 - received NOA2 via e-mail

03/22/06 - received at NVC

03/23/06 - case forwarded to embassy (Montreal)

04/03/06 - packet 3 arrives from embassy

04/11/06 - sent checklist and DS-230 part 1 to embassy

07/07/06 - Interview in Montreal

07/07/06 - Visa denied, handed in completed I-601

08/19/06 - I-601 received in Vermont

If I remember correctly, the next step is that you will receive a letter from the NVC stating that your case will be forwarded to the consulate within one week. Soon after that you should get a letter saying it was actually sent.

There's no way to track your case at NVC by email updates like at the USCIS. Don't worry though, this should be one of the quickest parts of the process.

I have called the Dublin embassy to follow-up. I was just told it can take WEEKS to get to them but I am hoping that is not the case.

I would say wait a few days or a week and try the embassy...........at least that is what I did.

From another post by YamSam

Once they send the case to embassy, you can track it via DHL.com.

Track by reference using one of these references

1) I-730

2) expedite niv section

3) expedite iv section

4) correnspondence

Or you can send an email to embassy.

When I called nvc they told me that our petition was going through the "regular" mail and that it could take 4-6 weeks. He told me it wasn't sent through DHL...............I am totally confused now
