Tax return: Mistakenly filed as single, do we need to file amendment?

My U.S.C wife and I got married in 2014. She mistakenly filed her 2014 & 2015 taxes as "single" and correctly filed her 2016 & 2017 taxes as "married filing separately". We are now at NVC stage and preparing to file AOS. Here are my questions:

1. Since only last year's tax transcript are required, is it OK if we go ahead and submit 2016 & 2017 tax transcripts and skip 2015 tax transcript that was filed mistakenly as "single"?

2. Do we need to file amendments for 2014 & 2015? If yes, is it OK if we go ahead and submit 2016 & 2017 tax transcripts to NVC now and take the amended tax transcripts to the interview?

I only submitted my 2017 tax return. They didn't ask for any other years at the NVC stage or at the interview last week.

I also filled single in 2015 although I had gotten married that year, but as I said, they never asked to see it.

Thanks, that is very re-assuring. I will see if I can just submit 2017 tax transcripts and file amendments in the meantime for 2014 & 2015, so in case I am asked for it at the interview, I'll have the amended returns.

You only have to send the most recent year's tax return. The others are optional.

You still need to amend your taxes for the incorrectly filed year. But that is an issue with the IRS, not immigration.

Information from three tax returns is required but only one is actually required to be submitted.  If you think it will help your case to show three, then do it.  No worries on the filing status but it would be a good idea to amend the return, and get a refund.  Do that anytime without immigration related issues.
