In 2008 his dad took him to do it because when he was living with his mom she didn't do it ( his adopted parents are divorcd btw ) and he went to USA in 1997 when he got adopted and now he have everything a certificate of citizenship and an american passport !! 

Then he did not naturalize -- that would result in a naturalization certificate.  So, as someone else said, US citizen parents is most likely the correct choice.
