Hey guys! Hope your all doing well.

Wanna start by thanking this Community and website for all the helpful info we used through our filing for the CR1.

We have applied to the Islamabad embassy for my CR-1. My wife lives in Los Angeles, CA.

My question is has anyone with previous flight experience applied for a cr1? I did my student pilot training in Australia back in 09-13 so was there for 4 years. Didn't end up getting a job once I got back home however and now been working in different industries for the last 5 years. Basically I've given up on my flying dream.

Anyone have any experience with uscis in this type of a scenario? Like do they use that against you? Does it make it easier to deny? Been pretty worried about this. But sadly it's not something I can change.

Any info. On this topic would be really helpful. Thanks!

That literally means nothing to the USCIS if you were a pilot or not...

Also you didn't apply for cr1 visa "to the embassy". Embassies don't process visas. I hope you didn't send your petition to their address ;) but to the address on USCIS website.

Why would being a pilot be a problem? I work for an airline and have done almost all my working life. Although I’ve never flown a plane I’ve been on many more planes than the average person and been in parts of the airport that are inaccessible to passengers (secure areas). I wasn’t asked anything about my job when I was interviewed.

There are some jobs that result in extra scrutiny but I can’t imagine a pilot being one - it’s just a bus driver in the air. Unless you were a pilot in an army or militia group that fought against the United States?
