My interview was on 1 Aug 2018 and I was given a 221g white slip. They asked me to submit few documents including tax transcription papers. I submitted all the required documents on 2 Aug on the website of nvc

Background information: my father is a us citizen and he is my sponsor.

My sister's interview was on 16 July 2018 she didn't face any problems at all. Her visa was issued on 18 July and we received it on 21 july.

So we were expecting the same for my brother and I.

But the man who interviewed us took our passports and gave 221g slip. My father called nvc they told us that the islamabad embassy has received our documents on 13 Aug and now they will review it. So can anybody tell me how much time will it take? I am really worried. Will they issue my visa ?

Once the embassy has your passport, the next step in what's called Administrative Processing (AP). AP is open ended, which means no one can predict how long. In most cases it's a few days for security checks and visa printing, in some cases it could be a few weeks for indepth verification. In (very) rare cases AP could extend to months/years.

Thank you for the reply

can you tell me how much time will it take after submitting the documents? Some people are saying it takes 7-10 business days. I don't know. It's been 6 business days since they received my documents. I hope to get a positive response on this coming Monday .

Don't be worry, as long as you submitted all the requested documents, they will issue your visa.

They got your passport, which mean your case has no problem at all, and they will issue the visa after checking the missing documents.

However, no one can predict the processing time for reviewing documents. Maybe several weeks, maybe several months.

It depends on the Embassy and the officer consular.

What you can do now is waiting and checking the visa status on the website https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/,

to know when it is changed to AP and ISSUED.

Every 2-3 weeks, you can call or email the embassy to ask them about your case, but do not spam email everyday to annoy them.
