Hi everyone,

I keep hearing horror stories about green cards being shipped and return to sender, then getting lost etc...

I read that there were a few rules to make sure you receive your green card in your mailbox, like having you name on it or something. I live in a house so I don't know if that matters.

Could anyone please share their experience/knowledge about this? lol

Thank you in advance!

If you haven't already, sign up for USPS Informed Delivery service.

Have you been approved for ROC? If you have and received notification that your GC is in the mail (or have been picked up by USPS), take a short vacation, buy a lawn chair, and camp next to your mailbox for the next several days.

In all seriousness, I think I would do the Informed Delivery and check your email, Spam folder, or USPS website everyday.

Definitely sign up for informed delivery. You will see the envelope before it gets to your house that day.

haha thanks for the advice!

I do have informed delivery and that's how I found out that they were going to deliver a priority Mail with a tracking number on Monday 27.

I just read that people had hard times to actually receive the green card mail, due to some sort of security issues

When I expect something super important I go to the USPS office and pick up my mail. I need to do this in the early morning before it gets on the truck.

I think USCIS is lying to me LOL. I have informed delivery but I never saw any Green card mail, I did get the approval letter. I called them for a tracking number and they told me they didn't had one because it wasn't even sent out yet in their system. I leave the rest of the horror story out :jest:. But yeah I got approved in April 2018, no GC received.
